Would you take Dak at 1 year/33M or Brady at 2 years/50MM?

A fully guaranteed multi-year deal with a base of 25 mil for a guy who turns 43 this summer and who already is on a 3-year streak of playing worse than he did the year before? Yikes.

You framing it as being a 2 year, 50M deal and ignoring the extra 9 mil in incentive implies you don't think he's hitting any of those extra 9M in incentives, so I take it you think he's not gonna play well or not gonna be ale to stay healthy enough to earn those incentives, whatever they are.

I wouldn't trade places with them right now, nope. Hard pass.

Brady has the best situation with a receiving corps in the game. He has one of the most QB friendly HC's in the game. He's gone on to a better O than he had in NE.

The question is how will he do without that NE D?

None of the crybaby naysayers who will appear in this thread would bet a nickel of their own money that Brady won’t outperform Dak next year.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised by anything. I think the smart money would be on Brady with revamped weapons and an aggressive coach, but age is absolutely a factor to be considered. I also think Dak is going to have a big year under Mike and a more seasoned Kellen

I think Tampa is now a top 3-5 team in the NFC

As far as Brady and Dak---two entirely different situations.

Well said.

Brady has a lot of toys on offense, however, Dak still gives the Cowboys the best chance to win providing the defensive personnel improves.

I’m not taking a 42-year-old QB over a 26 year old QB regardless the money. It’s pretty much Super Bowl or bust for Tampa. They know time isn’t on Brady’s side, he may be done in a year or two. It won’t be long before they’re looking for a QB to replace him. They’re getting what’s left of Brady which is still pretty good but for how long we’ll see.

Not me, I think Dak is going back to game manager mode after 8-8. Not to say it was entirely his fault but I strongly suspect a back to the basics approach will be taken as throwing the ball all over the stadium didn’t work against teams with a pulse.

The question shouldn’t be would you take Dak for the next 2 years or Brady, it should be - would you take Dak for the rest of his career or Brady for the rest of his career?

Way this team is built, Dak.

If we were the Broncos of 2015-16 I would be happy with either, maybe preferring Brady due to his postseason record.

I’m aware, and you may be right. Just figured I’d put my name on record for expectations this year

Brady instantly raised the bar for that franchise.. We need some of that here.

His success will depend on how much the Bucs protect him and change their schemes.

Arians has always been a vertical guy and Brady is a dink and dunk guy that doesn’t take hits.

It would actually make a pretty good even odds bet between who will have a better season next year. I expect Brady to obviously reign in the turnovers at the position but I’m also fairly sure he probably doesn’t have 33 TDs and 5000 yards in his arm either. But Brady is a presence, he’s seen it all and with his experience you just expect to make the correct decision in those half dozen or so crucial plays every game.

Agreed. It’s going to be a fascinating experiment.
