If there is a bidding war, rest assured Stephen will fold like a lawn chair. I could see him landing in Seattle.

I think McCarthy probably has good insight on Griffen, since he played him twice a year for a long time.

Don't we have his DL coach from Minnesota on our staff this year...George Edwards?

Hes not coming here.

Teams with more cap space like the Jets, will offer way more than Stephen’s low-ball offer

We have enough cap space, we just can't objectively evaluate the talent on the roster. They are going to go into the season gambling on Tyrone Crawford and Randy Gregory for like the 5th year in a row now, thinking this is finally the year they picked the right scratch off ticket.

The market sort of has been set for edge players. Two guys I'm curious on if Griffen is close to price wise is Lawson(3yr 30) and Ogbah(2yr 15).

I really hate Clowney. Hated him in college too. Its like to this point his whole career including college is he's saving himself for something. He's holding on to his talent. When is he ever going to fulfill his potential? THe only way i'd sign him is if it was a one year or 2 year deal. He's a prime example of someone who needs to always have a reason to play.

He's the best DE on the market. He's good against the run and while he didn't have a large sack number last year, his pass rush win rate was pretty good, I believe.

This is the time to dump Crawford and pick up Griffen. For gosh sakes, this is the time to make this move and then replace Crawford with a draft pick.

We have his old DC on the staff. And we’re a good place if he wants a good payday for a one year deal that he can slingshot like Quinn did into $40MM guaranteed.

He’s valuable enough that someone might give him that multi year deal right now though.

But Dallas is very good at creative contracts, McCoy's deal is three years but if they want to do so, its structured to be a 1 year deal for 7 Million. This is the structure -

Three years, max of $20.25 million

Signing bonus: $3 million
2020 base: $2.5 million (fully guaranteed)
2021 base: $5 million ($1.5 million fully guaranteed)
2022 base: $5.25 million

That is a great way to structure McCoy, they could do the same with Griffin but with more money.
