Nope, its been quite clear what has been reported and its nothing to do with money. Its got to do with the length of the contact. Dak wants 4 years and the Cowboys want 5. Dak is actually asking for LESS money overall.
I would rather have Tannehill than Prescott.
However, I wouldn't give either of them that deal.
He wants a short contract so he can negotiate more money in just a couple years. So yeah it is about money!
There was nothing embarrassing about his numbers in the playoffs. He has a higher QB rating than Dak does in the playoffs. The stupidity of this board continues to rise at an alarming rate.Just because Dak might not be worth paying X amount of money doesn't mean you can replace him with any scrub and get the same results just because you heard the dude's name on ESPN once.
You can't argue that Dak's passing is insufficient, then turn around and say that Tannehill having playoff passing numbers that would be an embarrassment in the 1940s makes him THE HERO WE NEED IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2020
Come the F on.
Not even a Dak lover, but true. Dude just cannot be accepted by some portion of the fanbase.if Dak did that, and he has had games where he didn't throw for a lot of yards and TDs, then fans be like he was carried by Zeke and the rest of the team, he doesn't deserve the win, and now tannehill throws for 78 and 82 yards or something to that effect and you are like tannehill played well...
lets not forget he sucked and was average for years and has had 10 good games.....yet people be like, he is great, deserving, better than Dak, screw all these other years and games..
so why is it there are two different measuring sticks when comparing? tell me honestly if dak had two games like tannehill but won the playoffs, you would be here trashing him and giving credit to everybody else on the team.
it was all henry. if it wasn't for henry rushing 182 and 195 yards, defenses wouldn't respect the run and give up the pass. so in essence Tannehill depended on Henry's success to make a few key throws. in the KC game, when henry only had 69 yards tannehill struggled...before you go touting him throwing 2 TDs, one of them was very late in the game, against prevent defense with 3 minutes left in the game down by 18....Yeah, I really don't care what "others" would say. Good throws are good throws. This thing that Tannehill "did nothing" is BS. He had 5 TDs to 1 INT in 3 playoff games. Which means he put up points and it wasn't ALL Henry.
because Dak had to deal with Garrett and Linehan...…Why do people keep on going on about Tannehill in Miami and comparing that with the offense Prescott has played with in Dallas!?
It's just so tiresome.
signed Keenum!!! and perhaps that;s your way of saying we should tank and go for Trevor Lawrence next year.....Not even a Dak lover, but true. Dude just cannot be accepted by some portion of the fanbase.
Either he is not a good looking guy, or his ethnicity, or he has a real punch able face. (This is me guessing)
No matter how you slice and I think this should be taken at 100% face value. Jerry has backed himself into a corner. He is not as shrewd of a business man when it comes to managing his NFL team as he thinks he is.
He should have gone and signed Keenum for the the pennies the Browns paid him and then he would have had some form or leverage.. The leverage that if Dak don't want to make a metric ton of money, don't sign the huge deal we are offering you. Sign the franchise tag collect your 33 million, if you get hurt and Keenum leads us the playoffs you will be Romo'd.
Right now our backup QB is functionally equivalent to a 15 year old kid in his backyard.
Jerry please learn how to be a team builder
so he deserves 28M per year for making a couple of throws and having total of 160 yards passing in two games...Yep. Someone who actually watched the games. He made a couple of excellent throws in every game playing his part in the team winning in Baltimore and Foxboro.
yes, its freaking business. its negotiations. he can do that if he wants to. last year he didn't sign a contract, betting on himself and now he stands to make more. he is betting he can make more money in a couple of years than signing a long term contract. we have options, like not signing him, or tagging him. so we tagged him....its part of the business process. has nothing to do with football, games, playing ability or anything to that effect. for all we care, he can ask for $100M per year....and team has options to accept, not accept, tag, etc. …..He wants a short contract so he can negotiate more money in just a couple years. So yeah it is about money!
exactly. most of these guys are offended because Dak asked for X money or contract...not sure why? they are taking it personally. and they are trying to win the spreadsheet math contest or cap game....which has nothing to do with real games and player abilities......I mean some of them keep touting Keenum….how stupid is that....the only way I would say sign Keenum is if we tanked like Miami, trade Lawrence, trade Zeke, dump cooper, trade Martin, shouldn't have signed McCoy and poe, and just go for a 1-15 record to draft Trevor Lawrence, why otherwise you want to sign a loser like KeenumJust because Dak might not be worth paying X amount of money doesn't mean you can replace him with any scrub and get the same results just because you heard the dude's name on ESPN once.

Fair point. I was not saying Keenum is the answer here. But really Jerry is bidding against himself, no matter what he does.signed Keenum!!! and perhaps that;s your way of saying we should tank and go for Trevor Lawrence next year.....
seriously..Keenum. that loser!!!
