Does anyone know much about him? Is he a dominant player that we should take over if CB CJ Henderson is their or one of the top WR.

Hell no, I rather take a CB. He is a good player but there are some top notch CB like Diggs that will be available.

I don't think Chaisson is going to be a dominant player in his first year, but his age and projectability make him a good pick, especially at 17. He got better as the season went along for LSU and began to show a lot of improvement. 4.5 of his 6.5 sacks came in his last 4 games. He showed steady improvement and from a player that is only 20 years old, I think he still has a lot of growth ahead of him. Had he decided to return to LSU for another season, my guess is he would be a top 10 pick and maybe top 5 in the 2021 draft. If he's there at 17, he will be a solid if not great pick.

Klavon Chaisson is so good that if you look up the word "good" in the dictionary, you'll see his picture right next to it!

It’s funny that people say Chaisson is rawer than Henderson.

If you’re simply looking at stats on a screen you’re missing context.

Chaisson plays a complete game and trending up. He could serve as our version of Clay Matthews on our defense. This isn’t a guy that mindlessly speed rushes the QB for 30 snaps a game. He plays the run very well and shows a knack for getting off blocks. He’s also got an unquestionable motor and is a team leader/captain (for whatever that is worth).

Henderson has undeniable athleticism. However, he’s technique poor. Can that be taught/learned? Sure. But I would predict he has a much steeper learning curve than people realize. He also provides questionable effort as a defender. Read and watch this article with clips with Antonio Cromartie critiquing the top corners in this year’s draft.

People keep saying we need to draft Henderson because we need a #1 CB now. I keep telling them Henderson would be our #4 CB in 2020. I think he has the talent to develop into a #1 CB, but he has a learning curve

I'm just afraid we already have him in Randy Gregory

I had the privilege of watching all of LSU's season last year and he just didn't stand out on the broadcast.

Despite a dream season for LSU, there were several games where I felt like their opponent clearly had the better pass rush and run stoppers. But then again, they did have a brutal schedule.

When I seen LSU Games he played similar to New England's Van Noy
I watched the playoff games and he was the best defensive player in those two games. Better then Chase Young. He had an ACL the year before and he seems to recovered. I just think he is more of a 3/4 linebacker then a DE. LOL.... That is what got us in trouble with Taco over Watt. Van Noy is probably his floor.I would draft him at 17. His average stats might turn out to be the only reason he is there at our pick.

by position alone Chaisson is well ahead of Henderson who gives me Mike jenkins vibes,Chaissons athleticism and explosive first step will translate well to the Nfl.i would consider trading up for him.

I've always agreed with the philosophy that you draft a player for what he will be doing in his third year, anything they contribute as a rookie is a bonus.

Thanks for the updates. So reading everything here I personally think our best bet is BPA at this point. Our immediate need to me is CB. After that anyone else will mix in and be ready to go next year, DT, S, LB, WR. not in any order.
I believe if the team gets wiped out and cannot trade down, taking the next CB is most likely to happen.

Terrell Lewis is the complete package off the edge. Pro ready...a Tony Tolbert type. I would love him.
He has injury concerns, observers at the Senior Bowl said he was dragging his foot through the drills.

Henderson has smooth hips, is fast, and is aggressive at breaking up passes. He has good anticipation and technique...can turn on a dime.

He won't be a true #1 CB in his 'rook' season. For immediate effect, a more immediate effect is needed from that top pick.

That can be done with the talent, this year, at defensive end, defensive tackle, and wide receiver.

Klavon Chaisson is a valid talent...from LSU. He was dominant in their push through the playoff competitions.

He fluidly turns the corner and is able to swivel in technique. He is strong, but will need to learn to handle the mass and strengths of the NFL tackles. He is a valid choice for Dallas at their 17 pick. So is a defensive tackle, and about three wide receivers. For DT, Brown will already be long gone...so quarterbacks and offensive tackles will determine if a DT is valid, most likely.

K'Lavon Chaisson 6-3 254
DeMarcus Ware 6-4 251
DeMarcus Lawrence 6-3 251
his frame looks really thin...wow, I guess he carries his weight well. I am surprised. I may need to re-evaluate my thinking.

What I have read up about Henderson is his elite make up speed and extremely smooth in his transitions. Yes, tackling was a business decision, but I'm starting to hear the same thing like Delpit, he was nursing an undisclosed injury. I don't trust either as tacklers, but both have elite coverage traits that we sorely lack in the back end. Perhaps they can be coached up. Mike Jenkins was another one who shied away from Tackling, but is no where near the talent of Henderson in coverage.
