I sure would be thrilled to see Joe Burrow lead the next generation of Cowboys under McCarthy.
Perhaps the Bengals would give up their number one pick if Dak was under contract for 4 or 5 years.
The Cowboys could get Burrow and under his rookie deal would save millions of dollars.
I just can't see why Jerry and Stephen wouldn't be trying to sell this package to the Bengals, unless they are absolutely not interested in Dak.
Ok, the only team I could see a trade actually work with is Miami who have the #5, #18 and #26 picks in the 1st round. They currently have 23M in cap space, but can free up another 10M or so pretty easily.
First, there must be a contract offer that Dak and his agent like enough , to make him sign his franchise tag and thus make him tradeable to Miami.
Second, Miami would have to free up more cap space just to cover Dak's contract and signing bonus...so bye bye WR Albert Wilson and probably others but of course that's their problem etc.
Third, Jerry must be also be willing to either draft a QB to replace Dak with the #17 pick or acquire a veteran like Dalton, Newton, Winston, Flacco or do BOTH, because Miami is not going to give him the #5 pick that's for damn sure. It will likely be the #26 pick along with their 2021 first round pick as compensation for taking Dak....umm yeeeaah.
So there you go bro...the PERFECT STORM for trading Dak for draft picks that will never happen of course.
Or...could it...actually happen??
Dom dom dommmm (music effect)
