Yes indeed, those moments of pure domination as a fan are the eras you remember most, and the Staubach era was that domination feeling.
The entire rebuilding from the 1-15 season in 89, Jimmy Johnson era was a truly unbelievable build process.... I know I said process...
Except Jimmys process was a fast track.
Oh yes.

I want others to chip in their thoughfs.

2016 began to feel like the 90's in that we were winning by bludging teams in the 4th at of games.

But it didn't last.

He played mostly with subpar talent? Romo?

You keep showing why the whole term "elite" is a silly term. Now Romo is "elite" to you. But Eli isn't.

This proves my point.

It proves nothing. As I said, my opinion on Romo is not generally shared. So most people would not consider Romo elite. There are/were plenty of other QBs, however, whom almost everyone would agree are/were elite. They are the guys who end up in the HOF. The category is meaningful, whether you and your postmodern allies in this thread agree with it or not. Frankly, you all give the impression of having taken too many gender studies courses.

But that is a definition people use. You are "elite"if you can carry a team by yourself. Yet, no one actually does it by themselves. Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Pat Mahomes.....they are wrongfully given this accomplishment but they all have help.
Theres lots of ways to skin a cat... that's kind of morbid having just actually typed that,, but what Im saying is that you don't have to have the most dominant QB, but you better have a pretty substantial defense. We have a good running game so T.O.P plays a role in slowing it down to how this team needs to concentrate on establishing early, its our bread and butter.
If Dak can start getting into a rhythm with this offense, and I can see it looming on the horizon,, Dak has good talent surrounding him now, and its probably going to be even better after this draft.

Patrick Mahomes is the Hottest name on the planet but, look at the roster. Not doubting the talent at all. All the parts are in place for now. the Young man is gifted and also blessed to have what he has.
I want someone to come up with a argument where the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl if they had Jason Garrett as opposed to Andy Reid.

it's not fictional.. Everything just has to be in place to pull it off. There is no one part but, several moving parts and good luck.

1. John Elway.
2. Steve Young.
3. Dan Mariano
4. Peyton manning
5. Drew Brees
6. Tom Brady.
7. Roger Staubach
8. Joe Montana.

Non of this happens even with the talent. Only "Elite' "If" A,B,C and D. line up. " Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, Micheal Vick and Troy Aikman could have joined the conversation with the right pieces.
Yes it is fictional. Have you noticed that the quarterbacks considered ELITE rarely had strong running game? Have you noticed most so called elite quarterbacks were in pass happy systems with huge numbers and minimal championships? Have you noticed that when most of these so called elite quarterbacks went to other teams they either played a smaller role in the team’s success or failed altogether? This ain’t my opinion. It’s historical NFL facts. And it’s funny how Dak put up some elite numbers in 2019 and the team failed. Just like many other so called elites, but his numbers are considered garbage stats? Hhhmmmmm..... Isn’t that strange and biased?

You demonstrate a striking lack of education. (I’m resisting the conclusion that your obvious failings are more innate. Perhaps I’m being too generous.)
