If you had a choice between these three who would you pick?

Kinlaw has the best chance to be a difference maker this year.

Is that the most important factor? Who is going to be the best over the next 5-10 years. Still might be kinlaw but that's the question

How I would build a team

1. Get qb
2. Protect qb
3. Get to qb.

I'd take kinlaw for the pressure up the gut

Make sure you have a HC #1......then:

Get a defense, get an Oline, Get a run game, plop in a good young QB.

The way the Seahawks built their team was EXACTLY how I would do it.

Hunting around for the next Mahomes or Brady is like looking for a needle in a haystack. 95% of the QB's will need all of the things I mentioned anyway and especially a young one. Then you have that 5 year window where the QB is on low salary to try and win it all. Then by the time he is reaching his prime he is experienced enough to have a better chance of carrying the team.

You put Kinlaw in the middle of that line with McCoy and Poe and and Lawrence on the outside, you have one hell of a line. I can tell you that NO ONE is running on us. Its going to be 2nd and 8 or worse 80% of the time. Those guys can all rotate and you will be getting a nice push up the middle with all those guys rested. You can even play McCoy out at RDE as well and he can be a beast out there.

Then you have Crawford, Gregory, Aldon and those guys can just come on and out. If one of the two suspension guys has a good year then its arguably a top 3 line?

Now Jaylon and LVE can run around and make plays. And dont think that Nolan isnt going to be sending those linebackers in blitzes either.

You can also get to the QB with 4 guys and can now play a nice zone. Our secondary would be weak, however. They would be almost forced to take a CB or safety in the 2nd round.

CJ Henderson
Javon Kinlaw
K'Lavon Chaisson
1. CeeDee Lamb
2. Kinlaw
3. Henderson
4. Chaisson

Those are the guys I want, in that order.

I know WR3 isn’t as big a need, but the kid is gonna be a star. And who is gonna stop an offense with Zeke, Cooper, Gallup, Lamb and Jarwin? Even as a rookie, Lamb would absolutely murder a team’s third best CB one on one. Plus e it her Amari would get one on one coverage a lot more or if he’s got safety help, Gallup, Lamb, Jarwin and Zeke will make you pay. I don’t think any defensive player would make as big an impact as Lamb.

1)It’s a crapshoot. No guarantees.
2)No matter who we pick, people will protest and scream and cry.
3)My GUESS is CB, since the need doesn’t seem as urgent at DT. There are a few, but for the sake of the thread, the choice is Henderson.

Kinlaw if I had to choose. He at least will immediately get snaps and help next year. Honestly though, I would try and trade down into the 20's in the first. and pick up another second or third. I only want a safety if one drops to us in the first otherwise the same talent I feel can be had at a lower first round pick.

Good question.....all things being equal, CJ Henderson. Higher chance of him having more impact IMO. Simply put, I don't trust Kinlaw's knee. Chaisson is growing on me but we've missed so many times at this position....

Agree 100%

You can get an impact WR on day 2 this year. DT or CB, no chance.

As much as having Lamb drafted sounds so nice, and would give great camp competition for the 2nd slot with Gallup or a great option if Amari gets hurt. I really think just finding a 4th round WR with good route skills is a better option. We need defense so bad right now and we need immediate impact players. Skip the "projects" and just draft fundamentally sound players with potential.

Go ahead and find a defensive player in this draft at 17 that isn't a "project" that also fills a need

Good luck

The saddest part about this question is.. I don’t feel great about any of them.

Kinlaw.. Yes, he’s a freak of nature but realistically is an unpolished DT. He dominates with his size and strength, but lacks consistency and technique. Coaching can make him a star, but his knee issues could haunt him much like Sean Lee.

Henderson.. of the three, I’d have to pick him for our Boys. 1) BPA is awesome, but BPA and fills a glaring need is even better 2) CBs with his size (6’1” 205lbs) that runs a sub 4.4 forty (4.39) is rare.. really rare. He mirrors the WRs, smooth in transitions, and has “catch up” speed. Much like Kinlaw, his deficiencies are coachable. I think he would be an excellent pick, exp since Dallas will be in the market for CBs again next year.

Chaisson.. I’ve only been looking at him lately bc of the rumors he could be an option for Dallas. That said, I’m intrigued by his potential, but his lack of consistency and/or resume scares me. He has “one hit wonder” written all over him. I recognize the traits, but I’m not convinced he’s worth a 17th overall pick. This is a weak edge rusher class.. that’s all I have to say about that.
