You’re crazy. Most overrated? LMAO.Deion was the most over-rated corner ever. Give me Everson Walls over the guy who was allergic to tackling.
Lester Hayes is on my all time top 5. Fast, athletic, aggressive bump and run corner. I hated the Raiders too.Deion was the best but loved the Raiders
Lester Hayes, 39 career ints. 13 in one season.
A lot of good conversation and debate on this thread. What are you talking about?Next we'll get a thread asking why there isn't more Fall Out Boy on Classic Rock stations.

Get off this thread if you don’t like it, and go listen to some Fall out Boy, whatever that is.
Or Champ Bailey. Not sure. I had to Google to find Fall Out Boy.
Anyone who thinks Deion is the only shut down corner in NFL history never watched the NFL in the 70s and 80s.
Actually, I changed my mind while reading comments on this thread. There has never been a shut down corner in the NFL. Every corner that has ever played has given up receptions and TD’s( if they were a consistent starter). Not sure. I had to Google to find Fall Out Boy.

I used to agree with that, but in reality even Deion gave up plays now and then. So by the definition of shut down( to stop, to close down, etc), Deion was not a Shut down corner, but he was, in my opinion, and probably yours to, the best cover corner of all time.If I count all the true shutdown corners I've ever seen in my life......
There's only one.
Deion Sanders
It was a rare day that Deion gave up a pass over 15 yards. Only quick slants and quick outs. He'd give them a few, then jump one.I used to agree with that, but in reality even Deion gave up plays now and then. Deion was the best cover corner ever, but even he was not a shut down corner. I changed my mind on him being a shut down corner. Think about the definition of shut down: to stop, to close up! No corner can live up to that definition.Deion was the best but not the only shutdown corner.
Green, Bailey, Revis, to name a few. There are plenty more.
How do you define shut down. A true shut down corner does not allow a catch. Deion was a great cover corner, he was not a shut down corner!Deion got away with grabbing all day.. in today’s nfl he would get called for all kinds of stuff.
Can you imagine if some of these physical corners played in the 90s? There’s been a lot of shut down corners since Deion, come on lol

I think he had 212 yards but they were mostly against Eric Davis and a safety. Deion took Harper one on one most of the game.Didn't Irvin have over 180 yards on Deon in a NFC championship game?
