The Cowboys have drafted three RBs that turned it around for them Duane Thomas, Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith. All three selections led to championships.

RBs in the modern NFL do not "turn a franchise around". Just not how it works.

I think he made RB's more valuable again. Some have proven to be less than stellar, but Zeke is still at the top of the numbers. I stand by my opinion that without Zeke, Dak would NOT have had the success he's had. Not just any RB does what he does, a long list of failures at that position for us.

Some of you guys.....I just don;t get. When Dak criticism comes up, you practically hurt yourself with the "it's a team game".
When Zeke support comes up, "what has he done for us?".

Completely contradicting logic.

PURE speculation. But that's what Hate does to a person, it clouds their minds and inhibits the ability to think clearly. You think you're being rational here, but FAR FAR from it.

Instead of cheering him on....You want him to fail? So your lunatic assessment can be proven right? Unbelievable.
You again. Haven’t I already proved you wrong enough? You’re like the little kid on the play ground that keeps talking smack, gets his fanny spanked, cries but then forgot it ever happened and goes back for more a few days later.

Yes, thinking zeke would put up pedestrian numbers behind the 2nd worst O line in the league is speculation but it’s also very logical, that has nothing to do with hate, and if you think it’s not logical to believe that then you’re more ignorant than I thought (no disrespect fellow Cowboys fan).

He basically did what DeMarco Murray did two years prior.

The Cowboys made the playoffs once in the four years before Elliott. They made the playoffs only twice after he got drafted. Hardly earth shattering difference there.

His pick did not change the direction of the franchise. If he did, we would have been more successful than we were.
Which is exactly the reason I never wanted to draft Zeke at 4 that year. Has nothing to do with his talent. You just shouldn't take a RB that high in today's NFL.

And their QB's were......

Their QBs certainly played a big part but the addition of those RBs put them over the hump. Every Cowboys team that won a championship had an offense that revolved around the running game and a great lead back.

You know what’s odd? You think Dak wouldn’t have had the same success without zeke but you accuse me of being speculative and basing my logical opinion due to hate that zeke wouldn’t be near as successful without this O line.

Do you even realize or remember what you type? Honest question.

You get I'm not the one who made the title "Elliott turned this team around"? We have one playoff win in 4 years, how exactly is this turning anything around? A QB can help turn a team around because the value of the position. RBs do not.

It took Adrian Peterson to have a near historic season in 2012 to get his Vikings to be a wildcard. Elliott isn't doing anything remotely freakin' close. RBs just don't put teams over the top, the NFL has changed too drastically.

and you Steve are a known OSU apologist and lover so there's no bias right? The offensive line is what makes our offense click. Zeke was not a wasted pick but he isnt the only back that can do what he does. Derrick Henry probably has as many yards if not more.I will agree though that Dak's success is somewhat tied to Zeke.

I just dont think he has been worth the drama and hes slowing down which is another reason i didnt support the stupid contract last year. But I didnt support the Dlaw ,Jaylon and soon to be Dak contract but we dont have much choice and its the market

And that was over 20+ years ago, the game has changed drastically and it’s been proven that top tier RB’s just aren’t worth the money anymore.

The Cowboys made it to their first Super Bowl during Duane Thomas‘ rookie year. He was selected 23rd overall in the 1970 draft and his selection turned it around for the Cowboys. He was one of the key cogs to the team winning their first championship. The Cowboys won their second championship during Tony Dorsett's rookie year. He paid dividends immediately. Two years after Emmitt Smith was drafted the Cowboys became a dynasty. Zeke is a terrific back but he hasn’t been able to get us out of this up and down funk we’re in. We’re seeing the same pattern now that we saw before he arrived.
