Sure but Lamb is the third receiver on a team that pays a RB a ton of money. You comparing that to an elite pass rusher? Please.

I'm not comparing it.

I know Watt would've been a significantly better player and meant a lot more to the Cowboys at that time than Lamb will mean now.

I'm just saying, the philosophy is better than reaching. I feel the Cowboys had two options with what they had at 17. Reach or pick BPA.

It wasn’t just the best available. Chaisson was the only defender even in Lambs zip code, and he was way over the other side of town, man. Not even close. If it had been Jefferson or the other WRs, we would have gone Chaisson. No one else was even close. Even the LBs would have been a reach. Your head coach was very happy!
There were two DB sitting there and one went right after we picked. We are saying he wasn’t a best available one pick later? C’mon man. There was also a DB taken pick before us.

If the last 25 years didn't do it, why would this pick have changed that if notclamb?

Not talking about taking Lamb or taking some defensive player, just noting that the "we'll be fine" hasn't happened for 25 years.

Hey, taking Lamb may work out great, but that's just hope, not a certainty...

See, folks....THIS is what BPA means.

Atrocious defense. Worry about that later when you get a top 5 player at 17.

Please note for next year. Thx.

Nice!!!!

Marinelli IS GONE = no way close to atrocious. Unless you think losing BJones was losing prime Deion.

Who said reach? They need S and CB. Trade down. Grab Delpit and get another 2 and 3. They secondary needs a lot of attention.

BPA is based on positions of needs.

If BPA is already a position of strength you don’t keep drafting that position when there are other glaring weaknesses.

I generally agree. But in this situation I don't think there was a defensive player available at 17 that provided the value that they got with Lamb, who in other drafts probably wouldn't be available at 17.

I know the team needs more D. If they wanted that enough though they should've traded back.

I mean heck, at least they didn't take Delpit like a lot of mocks showed. He's still on the board.

This is a horrible draft for an edge rusher...I wouldn't even waste a 2nd or 3rd rounder on one. Go get Jabaal Sheard for cheap in free agency...he'd be better than any middle-tier rookie DE.

Same fans say this stuff every year.

"We'll find our DT and safety in the second or third rounds. Don't worry!"

it'll always be bargain bin shopping or cast offs for Jerry at those positions. Always. They aren't jersey sellers enough, Lamb will sell jerseys to people thinking skill positions win championships.

100% correct.
