I didn't prep for the draft at all this year and this thread is basically my first look at Lamb. So don't get mad at me for asking this, it's an honest question.

I'm seeing lots of people saying he was the best WR in the draft, even "unanimously" the best WR in the draft, a clear top 10 pick, etc. So if that's true, why did we get him at 17, and why was he the 3rd WR off the board?

Different schemes want different types...and lots of offensive tackles were being fought for.

You just can't pass up a talent like Cee Dee Lamb. He'll add yardage after catches like we've never seen.

Philadelphia had to be upset when they saw the Cowboys getting the guy they were drooling over today.

Sorry Jerrah. Not sure how valuable a 3rd receiver is in the first round when you just paid $100M to your #1 WR and you also have another guy that will probably command more looks in Gallup. The right call would have been to trade down for more value. I'm not questioning the guy's talent but the return he will provide when Dallas is a run first with Zeke.
Really dude. We now have the best receiving core in football. Enjoy your 40 burger. No team can cover all three receivers, Zeke, and Pollard. We have potentially the best offense in Cowboys history. We have 4 players now that can score from anywhere on the field.

Now get Hurts, trade Dak for several picks this year and next.

Ban this poster.

I mean, jk but this gives Dak more leverage, expect a big deal. MM has bought into him, and the draft means we have to score 40+.....

Dak isn't under contract, so he can't be traded, and there likely is a reason Hurts will be available in the 2nd round.

So, what. the QB is 70% responsible for wins and losses and the rest of the roster only 30% responsible? What's the split?

Damn, Aaron Rogers sucked in 2018 - he went 6-9-1. 2019 and other seasons must be miracles from heaven for him.

Who are the QBs that "scare defenses"? Outside of Mahomes, Rodgers, and to a little lesser degree Brees, Brady and Wilson, who are all these players? People like to suggest there are loads of superstar, scare the hell out of defenses, QBs all over the league, and Dallas is trailing most of the NFL on that front, but that's not reality. There really are only a few QBs that really fit that description, and 3 of them were drafted between 15-20 years ago, and only one of them has been drafted the last 7 years.

I never said any of that. Only that another receiver isn't going to fix the issue. The issues with the offense weren't lack of talent at skilled positions. So adding a rookie at one of them isn't turning the dial for me. Not buying the offensive hype.

Remember last year we didn't exactly have top flight tight end production. Also gallop was still developing. This helps regardless.

This guy is an absolute nightmare to tackle. To go along with zeke physicality and the oline on offense.

Honestly, you have to wonder again how the Cowboys simply dont have a team building plan. Signing Zeke almost looks foolish now.

What are you going to do, pound the rock when you have the 3 WR's that we have? Its an embarassment of riches on offense. At some point it becomes diminishing returns.

And the oline is slowly fading into mediocrity.
