He does throw behind receivers on occasion and I hope McCarthy fixes that. But other than that he is a dual threat QB that can take a tomahawk missile to the chest.
Oh listen..

I loved Dak when he first appeared.

But Garrett started tinkering with his footwork, his reads and his audibles.

From there, he was overloaded.

If Dak can return to how he lead us in 2016..

that is all I want.

If he can and we improve as we should..

you pay him for his progress.

But $40 mil/yr..no titles at Division or SB level.?

Hard to justify unless you just want to spend without responsibility.

I'm more worried about the health of Tyron. This solves the issue of Cooper getting hurt. But anytime Tyron gets hurt this offense and team goes into the tank.
says EVERY TEAM WHO LOSES A STARTING LT , QB, or star who will be a major drop off from to the backup..

if TS gets hurt more then few games, I bet LC gets kicked out to LT, Cwill or Knight can man RT and cover him up with Bell the new TE blocking specialist we have McGovern and Looney to take the LG spot..… this isnt garett and the ATL game we have some depth as far as moving pieces to cover up a position.. Dak to Rush same issue, hope they grab Jhurts or From etc tonight..

He needs to get the ball to the receivers hands and not their feet for this to matter.

3 Eyes and you still don't see all the drops that stopped drives . Go get some glasses rewatch the Eagles game and gain some perspective before you waste time posting BS

This is it for Dak!
No EXCUSES either he takes advantage of our formidable trio at WR against good defenses or we are going QB shopping in the spring.
Or we pay 40 million per to a QB that cant produce when surrounded by greatness.
We developed this algorithm for Zeke with the OL, and now we expanded it.

If you open your three eyes Dak had two 1000 yard receivers last season and his third receiver had over 800 yards despite several plays being called back including a 70+ yard TD. Dak put up almost 5000 yards despite his receivers leading the league in drops. Just another stupid thread!

He did leave alot of yards on the field because of his tendency to not hit the receiver in stride or wait for them to be open rather than anticipate the WR being open on their cut. Even us Dak fans saw that. Not sure if it's caution or what which is why I'm hoping McCarthy and his coaxhes can improve that.

Thank god he's a 65% completion guy who threw for 4900 yards and 30 TD's.. while having a receiving corps that lead the league in drops...... but great point...

But...but...I've seen him miss receivers. "Elite" QBs never miss a receiver. :muttley:

I don't think people realize that every QB has bad throws. That's why you'll rarely see QBs with 75%+ completion rate, because a quarter to a third of the passes are usually dropped or missed
Yup. It's just these guys have a bias against Dak so every inaccurate pass sticks out more in their mind. In their mind Dak is mostly inaccurate while other QBs are just inaccurate sometimes.

You bring up a good point. I'm not trying to bash Dak, although I do on more than several occasions, this will not be one of them. This is just minor criticism.

For people that say Cooper takes weeks off, I, as a WR myself consider this a myth. Of course I never played at this level. WRs don't take weeks off, QBs do for one reason or the other. It's the QBs job to get the WR the ball. There are multiple factors that come into play as to why that might not be happening. And most of them have nothing to do with the WR. It's usually a result of defensive scheme and or pressure and how the QB reacts to it. Not the WR taking the day off.

I'll give an example. Back when Bledsoe was QB with Owens on the team. Back then Owens was called the most expensive decoy in the league. He wasn't getting the ball. In comes Romo and everything changes. It's not the WR dudes.

That said, I do have enough confidence in Dak to use these weapons. I think he has improved enough and is capable of doing the job despite my criticism of him. I had to laugh when I read a Bears fan comment on trolling the nation in regards to drafting CeeDee Lamb. And I'm paraphrasing, "Oh good, another excuse to use if Prescott is good".
Yep exactly. Never understood the "Cooper" dissappears on the road garbage. It does not make sense. No one has ever given that film proof of it either.

As far as Dak getting Lamb the ball, he will, the fact of the matter is, against good teams, you have to get the ball to your receivers when things get difficult. If he has time and everything is right he does fine getting the ball to the WR's. He had 4 games which were winnable in the 4th that he did not do that enough to score the go ahead TD. Not his fault we did not win those games necessarily but he had the opportunity to win them and did not make the plays necessary to score.

Yup, Dak doesn't possess the ability to throw a good ball with enough consistency to take advantage of all the talent he's had around him since he got here... he's just an average QB.

A lot of those drops were due to inaccurate passes. The reason that Dak has that high of a completion rate is due to some WRs making some great catches. It only shows that a really accurate passer could set records for completion percentage if they was playing in Dallas. Wentz would be the next P. Manning if he was the starter in Dallas.

"Rarely" is an interesting word for something that's never happened once.
