I know cap space is tight now, but if the Cowboys get Everson Griffen this will be the best offseason haul for them since Jimmy Johnson was building Hall of Fame rosters here.
If they would go ahead and get Dak signed we may have some more clarity on how much we have to spend.

Stephen understands we're still looking at vet FAs. Unfortunately, for those of us who aren't responsible for the team's financial welfare, he's the one handling such things, not us. He's trying to say he's working on it. Really simple stuff. It's this thread's opening message. Let's just live with it.

True. They can convert a huge portion of his current $31 million hit from the tag into a signing bonus and open up plenty of money.

Also they typically make the first year of a big contract like that a very low salary. DLaw's contract was 105 MiIlion with a signing bonus of 25 Million but a first year salary of only 1.5 Million. Amari and Zeke were exceptions but most deals are done like DLaw's.

1. Trade next year’s 1st for Jamal Adams.
2. Cut Crawford to save $8 million.
3. Sign Dak, save money.
4. Sign Everson Griffin.

We’d be Super Bowl favorites. And all those things are easily doable.

I know everyone thinks the Adams dream is dead. But after the offseason we’ve had, it makes sense to go all in. And the Jets GM just said a few days ago that trading Adams will he explored again after the draft. It’s still very possible.

Sporttrac has us at just over 10M cap space factoring in the rookie pool

And that doesn't include any relief we could get depending on how Frederick's contract is accounted for. We may be better off letting the whole hit happen this year, but if we need the money we can spread that by designating it post June 1.

We also haven't really done much in the restructuring to make space and we have a number of guys we could do that with to create space.

Cut crawford. Sign Clowney to a 1 year deal for 8 million with 3 million in incentives if he hits 12 sacks. Badabing. PS. That would give him 33 million since he turned pro. He should be able to live on that I'm thinking considering there is no state income tax in Texas.

I think if they were easy to do we would do them. It's more likely that Griffen wants too much money and the Jets want too much for Adams.

People if there was ever a nail that's damn near closed any chance of Dez returning......CeeDee Lamb. But In all honesty, I'm now convinced the window was open by inches. It's been Dez's persistent PR play that's made it seem he more in play. Put it this way, for us to now sign Dez, means a lot of things have gone wrong......like losing at least two, maybe three of our top guys.

I would think swing tackle is on the radar.

Only a few names out there IMO

Cordy Glenn
Kelvin Beachum
Jason Peters
Demar Dotson
Jared Veldheer
Jordan Mills
Marshall Newhouse (from Dallas)

I would imagine most of those guys will sign for starter money when somebody is injured.
