Do you have anything else? The Raiders took who they thought was the best receiver at the pick. This does not contradict that.
Raiders also took Darius Heyward-Bey who was a fringe first rounded over Mchael Crabtree who was considered a top 10 pick once

CeeDee Lamb (1.17, Cowboys): Available targets reflect vacant opportunity for every team in terms of their 2019 targets minus those by players still on their roster in 2020. Only the Falcons (261) have more available targets than the Cowboys (190). Lamb might not have a clear path to No. 1, or even No. 2, WR duties, but the absence of both Randall Cobb (83 targets in 2019) and Jason Witten (83) opens up a fairly-major year-one role anyway. A number of analysts and teams alike considered Lamb the draft's top WR, and he possesses the ability to thrive in both the slot as well as out wide. The Cowboys became one of just 11 offenses since 1970 to average at least 6.5 yards per play last season – they look even better on paper ahead of 2020. Lamb is my rookie WR3 thanks to his high-end talent and projected solid, not great, role in the passing game.

wow, you guys are brilliant with this hindsight stuff. It's pretty amazing. It's almost like, those guys went out on the field and proved who was the best.

I'll start off by saying I know absolutely nothing about these college kids that got drafted but if CeeDee Lamb is supposed to be the end-all, be all of this WR class and a can't miss prospect, then why was he only the 3rd receiver taken in the first round? I've seen others ask this but not seen any real explanation. Why did Ruggs and Jeudy go before him?
That's a good question and I know a lot about all 3 being a college football hound and specifically the SEC and Big 12.

Ruggs went 1st because the Raiders took the 1st WR and they play in the AFC W and he's the closest thing to Tyreek Hill in this draft. DEN and LV both decided to fight fire with fire instead of trying to put it out.

Jeudy and Lamb were basically interchangeable as the 2 best #1WR's in this class and Jeudy plays in the SEC and Lamb in the Big 12, not noted for great D's; however, since they are the passing conference they do have some very good DB's and Lamb was THE weapon for OU, Bama had more than Jeudy. There is also that tie breaker with all of the WR's coming out of Bama like Jones, Cooper and Ridley and the SEC just puts out more skill position players higher in the draft. SEC picks are sexier.

Lamb was bouncing from 1 to 2 to 3 and back again all though the mock drafts and when Ruggs turned in that 40 at the Combine, he bounced up on a lot of boards and he's run faster than that. He was no worse than the #2 WR on every board.

If I'd needed a WR and had first shot at one, Lamb would be my guy because I watched OU a lot and when he was in, they were a different offense, Hurts was a different QB. And the DC's all know who Riley wanted to get the ball to and in the playoffs, they tried to shut him down and doubled him and he was still getting open, Hurts was just not getting the ball to him but he did catch 4 for an average of 30 per catch.

The Cowboys actually took BPA and had some teams going need ahead of them or he wouldn't have been there. And I don't think Booger wasn't thinking about the fact that PHL had let it leak that he was their 1st choice as a pick and that was based on need. If Jeudy had been there, don't know if they don't take Chaisson but getting some payback when they took Goedert when they had Ertz and knowing they really wanted Lamb, that was just extra special.

But the main reason those 2 went before Lamb is that Booger didn't pick higher or he would have most likely come off earlier and ahead of Jeudy and Ruggs. It is a wealth of riches because the Cowboys already had a top 5 WR tandem, now they have the top WR trio. Does that make them a better offense? Dunno, they were already a top O and he could just repeat what Cobb did and not open up the pass game anymore than it was, Prescott was the 2nd passer in stats.

The best part of this pick for me is the future. With what they're paying Cooper, no way they keep Gallup who will want #1 money. Lamb gives them an affordable #2 and maybe the future #1WR.

Yep. First off the board because of that 40 time but not because he was the best. This is correct.
To me
Jeudy
Lamb
Ruggs
And it really depends on how you plan to use them
Ruggs is an outside guy
Jeudy played lots of slot and lamb played some slot
We had a hole at slot so the guys who could play in the slot are a better fit here to me

Who do you think would have been a better pick at 17?
We didn’t pick 1 so burrow really wasn’t an option
I was fine with the pick. I just don't magically think that Lamb is the best receiver in the draft because the Cowboys are draft geniuses and the other teams for some reason can't follow the enlightened BPA like the Cowboys can. I think those other two teams also think they got the best receivers, and we will see if they were right.

Facts. I think its a toss up between the two. Jeudy or Lamb. I actually wanted Ruggs because I felt Gallup or Amari could take turns in the slot at times but I also didn't think Lamb or Jeudy would drop. I assumed if one was to drop out of the 3 it would've been Ruggs. Really shocked how that played out and how the Jets and 9ers didn't take a receiver.

Lol Im not using hindsight. At the time it was very obvious the Raiders reach on DHB due to his speed.
It was also obvious that the Cowboys reached on Travis Frederick, who many had going in the third round at the highest.... oh wait.

It was not "obvious" until the players hit the field. Just because you know nothing about football doesn't mean you have to keep embarrassing yourself. You can stop now.

Depends what your looking for. Ruggs is a pure burner. The Raiders took him...I think that speaks for itself. They have a speed addiction. He was widely considered the 3rd best wr in this class, but that's what they do. Jeudy and Lamb were looked at pretty closely ranked. Jeudy also comes with a knee concern, but with that aside, he is a very good route runner, very good hands. Very good speed.
Lamb, ran a 4.5 at the combine, but when you watch him play, you see a guy that plays like the fastest guy on the field. His route running is similar to Jeudy, but after the catch, in space, in traffic he is in a class by himself! He breaks tackles like a 220lb receiver, while being able to juke a guy out his cleats like a 175lb receiver. He is special.

are you under the impression that these guys have never played football for all to see before? Who winds up the best nfl player obviously remains to be seen, but you’re acting like it’s impossible to have an informed opinion at this point, and that teams don’t do weird stuff all the time. We can revisit tj watt and taco for an easy comparison

Based on the stupidity you routinely spout, there certainly isn’t any evidence you watch football. But hey you were able to google Heyward-Bey and maybe convince a five year old that you know who he is. Nice try.

The Cowboys took the best player available at the time and didn't try and get cute, that's all I care about right now.
