You can’t bring in Cam.. If he ever got on the field and brought his A game then Dak wouldn’t see the field again.

I also don’t think Dallas wants Dak looking over his shoulder and seeing Cam.

Dalton would be a good fit.
Skip made this direct point that he believes Dak Has enough confidence in himself that he would not be phased by Cam not saying he is right just something he pointed out

Really? Not doubting you at all but what was an example? I always thought of him as a no-drama, no-frills QB that didn’t do much talking.

Here's one lengthy example of issue with he and McCarthy:

And hell to the no on Cam. No on Flacco, too. Dalton is the choice.

BTW, I’m guessing Fitzmagic is still under contract? That dude is the quintessential QB2 that can pull off wins in short spurts.

Yeah, the Dolphins kept Fitzmagic around I believe. I agree that he'd be ideal.

The media alone in Dallas wouldn’t allow him to just be a backup.

The Cowboys and Dak wouldn’t handle this pressure well.

I was talking about Flacco. You said he was selfish like Rodgers. I mean, he does have a smug look about him but to be compared to King Doosh Rodgers, that’s a helluva indictment and slipped under my radar. Either way, he sucks, don’t want him. Was just curious if I missed something about his character.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I think Flacco has always been a 'me guy' and he happened to have the best stretch of his career in his contract year and has been coasting and going downhill ever since.

I never heard anything about Flacco being a ****** or a bad teammate.

Gotcha. And that article about Rodgers/McCarthy? Wow. If it’s true that Smug-Mug held a grunge from draft night...what a sensitive B. I’ve had a major dislike for Rodgers for as long as I remember. I think it started back in 2007. I can’t stand the guy.

It's finally coming around on him. Green Bay is tired of the act and having an entire franchise beholden to any one player, no matter how good they might be. This year clearly showed that they're planning to not put up with it any longer. Either he makes an effort to get along within the organization or they move on.

I haven’t either. He’s a cerebral guy and people don’t get that. He actually has a big sense of humor.

Exactly, the last thing he actually is, is a diva or ego maniac. The guy got his record contract and went to lunch at McDonalds that same day after signing it lol.

Dalton seems to be the popular choice and I wouldn't at all mind it, but can any of you see him settling for a backup spot at this point?

Newton would not be a good scenario at all.

Flacco is probably the most likely, but my big fear, more than any of these guys....is that they stick with Rush as #2 again.

Wouldnt be a healthy situation. Almost 100% moot since I seriously doubt Newton would consider Dallas.

He will probably wait until a starter goes down to sign anywhere, unless NE decides to go that way.

Dalton.
Backup QB is a big need, and an important position management has not valued highly enough.
Apparently ONLY the Egals seem to think so.

2008 and 2016 were completely thrown in the toilet.

The vet backups they had just couldnt play, and they didnt know it.

Now they would rely on Rush. If he has taken a non kneel down snap in a game I don't recall it. And he didnt exactly excite anyone in preseason.

I wonder how much of this was Garrett.

I'm worried MM has Jerry sold on some sort of "QB factory" nonsense, when in reality you're playing with fire as far as losing a season.

I'm with you.

I think he has the best mentality to accept the role without trying to undermine or take the starter's job. That's what I would worry about with Newton and I don't think Flacco even cares at this point. His attitude has sucked for years.

I'd love to get Dalton but the price would have to be right, and by right I mean really low!

Thats the problem the price won't be really low for Dalton. Atleast $10 mill bare min but likely closer to 12-14 for 1 year deal. Dallas won't pay that. I would then go Flacco over Newton because I think there is chance Newton would win starting spot but I am not fan of his in anyway.
