At this point I'm tired of hearing about Dak and his contract. He wants elite money when he's not worth it. Dallas has made you more than enough generous offers you will be hard pressed to find else where. You wanted to press your luck but this off season is just horrible timing. Only a handful of teams now need a quarterback after this past off-season.

Hell I personally think Dalton could have done just as good if not better if he was on the cowboys since 2016. You can't compare playing for the bengals vs Dallas as cincy was a dumpster fire for many years.

I do think we can win with dak as he is still better then the majority of quarterbsacks however is it worth it for his asking price? Absolutely not

lol. Come on bro. Dak is a clear downgrade? The same Dak who was held back from passing during the 4th quarter of their Week 17 game against the Commanders, even though our Cowboys had a 3 score lead and Garrett and Jerry knew Dak was within 1 yard of tying Romo's single season franchise passing record, 2 passing yards from breaking it, and less than 100 yards from being the 1st Cowboys QB to pass for 5K yards in a season? But, hey, that was part of Jerry's plan to keep Dak from demanding more money for his new contract, eh? You don't think Dak realized that? If we did, I'm pretty sure Dak did as well.

You know the same Dak Prescott who is on pace to shatter most, if not all, of Romo's franchise records if he's allowed to start for another 6 years. He's actually on pace to break them all before those 6 future seasons are up.

Nobody cares about Dak’s statistics.

Dak’s feasts on bad teams and a lot of you stick out your chest because of it.

Meanwhile we can’t even move the ball on good teams and you guys start crying about the defense when they are holding on for as long as possible all game.

Dak is a good solid QB and simply not worth his price tag and unfortunately for you guys we don’t play NYG and Washington every week.. (The 2 teams he throws 14 of his 30 Touchdowns against).

Dak is da man in Philly! They love him in Philadelphia. :lmao::lmao:
Dak has owned Philly until their last meeting when Dak was playing injured. Learn the history of this match up before you mouth off or you end up saying silly stuff like you just did.

Ezekiel Elliott - 13 carries for 47 yards. Elite my ***.

#NotmyRB

Yeah I never agreed with this bum either. Him and Dak can go for all I care.

2 overpaid players. Dak is average. And Zeke is a couple notches below Elite.

I'd keep Zeke only at lesser pay. Dak I don't want at all. Unless at backup.

That is the proper general lip service and probably about 95% correct. However, if push comes to shove all is not lost.
It's not "lip service" what-so-ever. It's 100% correct. Dalton won't get in a game unless Dak gets hurt or during garbage time when the game is basically done.

Dak hasn't owned anything, his worst splits (by far) against NFC East opponents are against the Eagles. His QB rating is 15 points below his career mark.

Talk about a troll needing to take his own advice. Back under the rock you go.

No one expects him to be the savior, at least not with his play on the field. He could be the savior in terms of not making a huge mistake in signing an average QB to MVP money. I would have no problem turning Dalton’s deal into a reasonable 3 year deal and trying to trade Dak. Trading him may not be possible but the attempt could be made. With all the extra picks next year, needing a QB of the future could make it a real interesting draft and I for one am not scared to go down that path for fear of losing the privilege of overpaying Dak Prescott.
#1 dak is above average
#2 Andys a back up
#3 the Jones family is committed to dak which means the QB of future is already on roster
#4 if dak is so average which hes not Im sure the league wont be lining up to get him.

This move is a good move in terms of back quality nothing more. The cowboys are in win now mode should Dak get hurt they are in much better condition than they were last week. It may also put bit of pressure on dak even though the intention is to have a quality back up. But go ahead and hang on to your hopes of Dallas not overpaying for dak history shows they will. Dlaw,Smith,Ewok ,Witten and Romo twice

Let's roll with Opie. People needed to see Cassel and Moore fail in 2015. We can endure another losing season and if we're as lucky as the Bengals we'll get the number 1 pick. Then we can take the hippie from Clemson.

Dalton is the back up. He is ending his career as backup and taking back up pay. JJ should have signed him for 2 or 3 years at that price.

I don’t think signing Dalton was just about Dallas signing a good backup QB..

They did this to gain leverage in negotiations and if things go south they can go to Dalton.

Signing Dalton is not really a Dallas Cowboy type of move and it sounded like Jerry was done with that after Kyle Orton.

Something is up.

What Dak needs to worry about is Mike McCarthy. If MM starts developing a comfort level with Dalton then Dak will become expendable. A new head coach doesn't want to concern himself with contract battles and only interested in players who show up. A bigger problem for Dak is I don't think the money is out there for him if Dallas outright releases him in July. NE & Jacksonville are probably only two teams who need starting QB and neither has cap space for $35+ mill year contract. This can go sideways on Dak quickly.

Andy was not brought in for leverage or anything like that. McCarthy for the most part (except his last few years in GB) has always had 2nd string QB's that were capable of winning if needed. If they signed Brady this offseason then okay. Message sent. But not Andy Dalton.

Stop reading my stuff Bayless.

Seriously though, I think Skippy is on the right track but not about the rescinding the tag possibility. I do not think Prescott is that foolish and unintelligent to test the possibility of allowing Dalton to simply step into his shoes without a fight. In my opinion the contract negotiations will have Jones and Prescott shaking hands in the near future.

Sit out the first 4 games, Dak, so we can see Andy Dalton carry this team to a 2-2 or worse record for the month of September. Also, just so I can see the anti-Dakers screaming for Jerry to give in and already sign Dak.

So you're saying Dak will do better than 2-2?

He couldn't even be decent and throw decent balls vs the eagles for us to sneak in the playoffs.

He's just not that good. Plain and simple.
