I do not agree with your assessment of the negotiation skills of the Jones. It is a simple fact of nfl life that certain players are paid x amount for the position they play. I would bet, without any further info, that the chiefs will make Mahomey the highest paid qb in the nfl. Are they poor negotiators if they say, before the deal's completed, they want him to be their guy until he retires? I hardly think so. Think they'll get a better deal by disparaging him.
And both Zeke's and Coop's contracts are written where the team has an out after a couple of years. I think DLaw's also.

But if Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL wouldn’t he deserve to be the highest paid?

Ultimately this is the bottomline.. I guess there are fans who think Dak is the best QB in the league and should be paid as such?

?
4 x 35=140
5 35= 175
My calculation says that is 35 mill less he could have made.

After 4 years and his contract is over his pay will then be based on the production or lack of production in those 4 years. If he fails then that next year he could be looking at backup QB money no where close to 35 mill

The devil is in the detail.

If the 5th year is not guaranteed, then that 5th year is good for Dallas, and all it does for Dak is limit his income. So a 5th year has a negative value to Dak.....therefore, he's asking for more.

Not many here realize just how sharp a negotiator that Stephen is.

DAL does not play in the big name FA unless they're on the way down and out. Prescott's deal has nothing to do with the rest of FA.

The reason DAL is where they are is strictly because of the poor negotiating skills of the Joneses with star players. They are among the worst at it. They never learn from mistakes because they don't pay a price for them. If anyone would have ever hired Stuphen as a VP of Personnel, he would have been fired a half a dozen times by now but this GM is too inept to even carry out that task.
Yep

The signing of Dalton provides me some hope our dumbbutt duo front office won’t cave in like they normally do.

I am not among them. Dak remains unsigned. The road to the big dance is augmented by the total cast of characters, not just one.

Like how he caved in with Elliott and Dez? Or you don’t give him credit for those?

Couch Coach is right. There’s no accountability with Football Idiot and Son. They’d of been fired several times over by other franchises.

Good to hear.

But what about Mahomes. You don’t think he will deserve to be the highest paid QB?

When your most difficult negotiations are 2 door or 4 door, or fries or onion rings, your business acumen might not be all you think it is.:)

What the hell are you talking about? Is this some attempt at a personal insult to discredit my message?

I accept the reality of nfl contracts. I don't necessarily agree with them. The more Mahomey gets, the less there will be for other players. The pie chart does not lie.

Jerry, not Stephen cave in to dez. Stephen fired dez. Zeke deal was a good deal. Adroitly done by Stephen.

You referred that if the Chiefs made Mahomes the highest paid QB they’d be as bad of negotiators as our Dumbbutt duo. Did I interpret that correctly with my simple 2 or 4 door mind?

But you won’t even admit that he probably should be if he’s the best QB. How is that a fair comparison in making our QB the highest paid if he’s not the best?
