If you don't watch the games I guess you could see who we lost and think "wow big losses" which makes sense bc zero way he watched all 16 Cowboys games like most fans did.

It's possible if the linebackers and secondary dont play a lot better than they did last year.

I have no idea which version of LVE/Jaylon we'll see.

I will so mad if we dont make the playoffs, this team is loaded and there is no excuse now.the coaches dont need to be miracle workers but they just need to get better in game situations and that alone could bump our win total by 1 or 2.

Then he’ll retract that once we are at 7-2. He’ll be saying well I predicted that back then “because” but now “because of this and that” I can see them in the super bowl and then we’ll finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs.
Cowherd never does this. Ever. He always owns what he says.

He's more optimistic than me. I have us at 7-9.

A LOT depends on the health of T. Smith, Zeke and Cooper. If those 3 stay healthy, at least for the vast majority of the season, I would say 9-7. The schedule appears daunting, but it seldom turns out that way. I don't see the Commanders or the Giants being a whole lot better, Wentz' health is so iffy, that could be 4 wins right there. Browns will probably always be the Browns, Burrow is good but he's a rookie on an otherwise not very good team, Falcons and Rams I think are on the downslide, and I don't see the Seahawks as anything but a rebuilding team, that Wilson can squeak out some wins. That's 9 wins.
And it's not unusual for any team, including the Cowboys, to rise up and beat somebody they're not supposed to.

Cowboys' record over the past years has been of an up and down team, 8-8 last year, even with Garrett and Marinelli at the helm. Adding McCoy for leadership, finally getting Jarwin a chance to shine, an expected big boost from Lamb, getting rid of Heath and plugging in Dix, and I see a potential for being a much better team.

Wouldn't be surprised at 7-9, or even 6-10, but I just think there's too much talent on this team to flop to 7-9...

No team has won the NFCE back to back in decades. The iggles won't break the streak.

The east has sucked for 10+ years and still hasn't happened lol. It'll be out of the eagles and cowboys again.

https://www.si.com/.amp-cowboys/nfl...in-2020-the-third-easiest-schedule-in-the-nfl

Most publications have us with an easy schedule. Strength of schedule changes every year so it won’t matter but no we don’t have an analytically hard schedule according to most.

Problem with saying the Cowboys have an "easy" schedule is that when you look at "strength of schedule", it uses the total win/loss records last year of the teams you play this year. Dallas gets to play 3 of the worst teams in the league last year, the Giants, Commanders and Bengals combined for a grand total of 9 wins, that drags the w/l percentage down somewhat. Also, teams don't usually stay in the 2-3-4 win total consecutive years, while better teams usually do stay in the double digit or close to it the next year. Giants had a green quarterback and a running back that, when healthy, is fantastic, but he wasn't healthy for long, missing 3 games and probably should have missed more. Assuming Barkley is healthy, Giants will improve quite a bit, at least in the W column. Burrow will have growing pains but he appears too good to not get more than TWO wins this year, the team will be excited to play with him.

Besides, think teams weren't "licking their chops" in 2016, seeing a FOURTH round draft pick taking over at quarterback? And what was the record that year? Something like 13-3, wasn't it?

I put little credence in "strength of schedule" as indications of what at team will do before the season even starts, sometimes holds true but it's often just plain wrong...

It’s hard to look at our team and not think about it coached with Garrett..

If we were a Garrett coached team I think our record is 9-7.

Hopefully McCarthy comes in and gets us to 11-5.

yeah we were even last year with JG which is like not even having a coach, so I have to think MM adds 3-4 more wins on an easier schedule with a better defense and better offensive personnel. I don’t expect MM to lose many of those close, ugly, winnable games against inferior opponents like JG often did.
