the facts are Dak plays and has played better when pressure is on...the one thing that doesn't phase him is pressure...sounds like you want him to be overwhelmed and wilt under pressure....

and Dalton is 0-5 in the playoffs. you sure he is playoff material...and his output in the playoffs have been atrocious...awful awful bad.....

and if he is become the starter, in high school, college, and now NFL...its not Luck...its that he is good....when he gets hold of it, he performs and leaves no doubt...that's not luck...that's being good
WELL SAID AND TRUE. Dak wants the big moments..Andy seems to shrink. Can't measure that. You have THAT or your do not.

I'll have to take your word for it. Last I checked, Andy couldn't cut it. He's still a vastly better back up than we have had in YEARS. So from that standpoint, I'm glad we have him. Its a bit premature and MAYBE foolish to think he's anything other than that at this point in his career.
Like Romo being injured and Dak became the starter.

Dak his whole career has never won starter QB by competition for it. It was because the guy ahead of him beat him and Dak backed up.

This goes all the way back to HS for Dak.

He has been lucky and his timing has been bizzare.

Does it continue?

Could something happen to Dak?

He obviously thinks he is charmed.

Now he wants to be paid.

Hmm...

"Not according to recorded stats. Do the stats suddenly lie? Or do they only matter when it fits a desired player fan's narrative???"

Yes. stats lie. "There are lies, damn lies, and stats". Or "apples to oranges".

Now, if you showed me Dalton played with the same team as Dak...or vice versa...I'd put a little credence in your oppressively GIANT stat board.

Did Dak have success because he had all the tools as a mid round rookie? Or did Dak have success because it was a super-charged 1st-round filled offense? (honest question!)

I think both of course. I don't know enough about Cinci to drill down into the stats.
his first 2.5 years he played with Dez, Witten and Williams as his primary targets.....you call that having tools? then we got cooper, according to many many many many of you on this board, not a top 10, or top 15 WR and since then his passing passing stats have been top 3 in the league.....

andy Dalton played with AJ Green, a top 3 WR in the league. had better TEs and his offensive line wasn't too shabby.....so lets not make it out like he played with highschool kids on his team..

andy Dalton, folds under pressure. under performs, can't lift his team and uner performs when it counts the most. he is 0-5 in playoffs with some really awful performances....I mean down right awful....

andy is nothing except a great back up at this point in his career.

-------and you want to move on from your franchise QB? Cmon.

Dak being the Cowboys QB to me does not make him the "franchise" QB to me...he is still living off of his rookie season

Really?

His first 5 years he took the Bunggles to the playoffs year after year.

Dak has only sniffed at such success.

He had horrible defense who could not hold the leads he had..

He will be right at home in Dallas with our defense.

Back to the Future, Andy.
and he went 0-5 in the playoffs......scoring I think about 11 points per game in the playoffs....he folds under pressure and can muster wins against weaker competition...when it counts...andy sucks.

He looks like he is working his rear off and looks fabulous! This really ought to bring out the best in my favorite player Dak Prescott! Watch around the 2:30 minute mark if you get bored easily.. His kids are really cute as they throw him footballs in between his reps..

Because he is on deck, he better get ready and do more than that.

I had him on my fantasy team early in the year until his WRs went down. He is the first back up competition QB we have had since Steve Beuerlien.

He his going to make Dak better and that is better than anyone Romo had behind him and pushing him at QB which was no one.

Being good is being named the starter by the coaches.

Backup is for in case of problems.

He has been a fireman.

A decent one but it is his legacy so far.

I like Dak up to a point but he has proven time and again he is under prepared as a starter at times.

Dalton lost in the playoffs. Look who he had to beat with weak defenses?

Brady. Manning, now Mahomes and Jackson in the AFC.

You, me, Dak would lose, too.

I do not worry about any of that.

Dallas has new coaches, new FAs and we are not done yet.

We still have cap to spend.

Stand bye for further updates.

Dalton has a stronger and more accurate arm than Dak. That's not debatable. However, Dak has better field vision, more mobility, can make plays when things breakdown, amongst other intangibles that are hard to teach.

I don't believe he has a stronger arm but I do believe he is probably more accurate. I don't know about vision. That's really a matter of progressions and I've never been all that impressed with Dak's ability to read progressions. JMO

If Dak doesn't sign a deal and is on the tag, camp is going to be interesting. When not handling blitz packages or complex defenses thrown at him, Dalton is going to look good.

I still can't believe Jerry was OK with Cooper Rush as a backup.

Yeah..

Many of us saw how much Dak was with Romo on the roster.

When he left for TV Dak struggled.

Will Dalton MENTOR Dak?

I do not see that but maybe he can fake it for the media.

We will see.

"Watch your back, Dak."

Think I will get a T-shirt with that this week.

Can't wait for Dalton to start this season after Dak holds out. After we go 6-10 this board will go crazy.

Dak's biggest strength is his ability to not make dumb throws. He rarely takes shots where you are thinking "Why the hell did you throw that?!?!?" Even last year, a lot of his INT's were off receiver's hands. To some extent, I think Cowboy fans have got spoiled with it. Its a valuable skill. A pick 6 at the wrong time will lose you a game.

Dak also has a stronger arm on deep throws. Dalton has a tendency to float them. On intermediate throws where its a direct line, I think Dalton throws it harder where Dak tries to place it a little. Dalton has Dak on pure accuracy, that is to say from a comfortable pocket while not moving, I think Dalton will hit targets better than Dak.

ANDY was brought in for a couple reasons. NOT to be the long-term starter, and lastly, to start for a maximum 2-3 games in case we are without Dak for whatever reason, be it injury or a very short hold out. IT IS GREAT INSURANCE. Its nothing more than this, period.
Uhh..

Ok..

I declare myself the 1st Annual President of..

I never said either one of those things. So I don’t know why you put them in quotation marks. Dak’s accuracy isn’t perfect. He does miss some Throws
And has a few particular routes that he is weak at throwing (fades and drag routes come immediately to mind). Him throwing behind receivers on the underneath drag routes pisses me off every time it happens to be honest.

That being said his accuracy issues are overstated by some and he is by basically every objective measure, more accurate than Andy Dalton at just about every level of the field.

We all as cowboys fans see every cowboys game. So we see every missed throw and nitpick them.

I’m just saying most people probably have seen Andy Dalton play like 2 games a season or so, for years. Because how often does anyone watch the Bengals play? If people did watch all 16 games. I guarantee they would also see a lot of missed throws. Just like you do with just about every other QB except the most accurate ones.
1. I put them in quotations because those are the terms used by many if not most of his supporters on this site.

2. The Dalton stuff works both ways. Dak’s supporters dont watch a majority of his games either, so when they state Dak is more accurate, they are only looking at a stat sheet
