Been talked about a lot about our s's, especially since they were supposedly interchangeable in Rod's defense...so don't start with the not knowing the difference....stop...

Unless things have changed, Fredricks money will not get it done. I think the Cowboys get a little under a mil savings against this years cap on Fredericks deal. See, his signing bonus was already paid to him. That means that because of his early retirement, it seriously hinders the cap hit for this year. All of his signing bonus, still left, accelerates into this years cap. So while there might be savings against his base salary in future cap years, it really hurts this years cap situation.

That's also why all of these suggestions on the Dak contract talking about incentives to turn a 5 year into a 4 year deal are really bad ideas. Basically, the same thing would happen in a situation where a year is removed from an existing contract. Essentially, it make the team account for the additional cap that might be needed in year 4 so it provides no real relief. Helps nothing.

That's why I said to restructure one deal and get Dak signed. That should take care of this year. Frederick's money was on the books going forward and accounted for. Just give it to Adams and starting next year call it a wash. Simple.

Find me all this talk please, again, as a fs yes, I hardly doubt most here knew the safety were considered interchangle, I had that argument here before, even still as a SS nobody is talking about ballhawking and everybody is aware he's a strong safety.

this smells like a story planted by his agent and made worse by Mike Fisher for clicks. FAKE NEWS more than likely. This years white Buffalo...ie Earl Thomas.

well its no secret they like the player, maybe even love him, considering what they were willing to give a year ago.

yeah, but we love many players that we cannot have. Because they aren't reasonable and affordable. For the right deal, HELL YES..but again, the key is reasonable. I think the agent is trying to rekindle this so the Jets will be forced to make a decision.

The Cowboys have all the leverage. If Adams fails to want to negotiate a long term deal with a team other than Dallas, the Jets have no choice than to circle back to Dallas. If they keep Adams, then the Jets risk having an unhappy player on their roster.

I do not do twitter but got an alert, saying Cowboys sources say they are not interested in pursuing Adams. maybe some one can find something on this.
It was from a news source called The Score. From an app I have.

If Dallas wouldn't give a 1st and 3rd last year when Adams was younger and cheaper and the Jets had more leverage..... why would they do it now?

The price for Adams is going down, not up.
But they wanted this year's draft picks with a new coaching staff. They may be more willing to trade future picks. Plus, next year's picks should be in a worse position than this year's. That may persuade the FO to do a deal. jmho

This, that is why I would offer a 2nd and 4th and if decline tell them this is the last time you will hear from the Dallas Cowboys.
