This guy needs to move from OG to swing tackle. I believe Issac Garcia has the size, strength & athleticism to play LG at high level.

I trust MM and his staff to start who they think is best
But I must say some of the Connor bashing is just wrong
I seen a post last week saying he missed a block but clearly it was Fred’s man to block
I think Connor is better than some give credit for and some sea size as the end all to playing
McGovern has never took a snap
Yet some see him as the next great player
I like McGovern but I think being injured all last year probably keeps him from starting
But that’s what camp is for
And this guy is a guy to develope, not start
He’s far from being ready to start in the nfl

He is better than weak bum Connor Williams.
IAG has Larry Allen like strength.

I’ll put money on IAG :dance::dance::dance:

The Teflon Con hardly sees any criticism at all. Surprised this thread hasn't been deleted by Connor-loving mods. Lol.

Not exactly going out on a limb here considering he was benched for XSF.

I think he still probably has the inside track, but it will be interesting to see what McGovern can do there & maybe Looney if they go with Badaiz as center.

Do you believe a Texas alumni must have some sponsorship with Jerry to keep him on roster?

Kind of seems weak and pathetic by F.O.

I'm all for out-of-the-box thinking but has the OP actually watched this guy play and/or properly assessed the LOC he went against?

As far as Connor WIlliams, he's either going to step up and win the job or lose it to Connor McGovern. I'm not worried about the Left Guard spot at all. Tight End and Safety scare me.

Garcia Threads are the new Sua-Filo threads. Someone has to be paying him to make these threads, do those two guys have the same agent?

Williams had a lot of trouble playing against power DL for most of his rookie year. This is understandable to an extent because as a LT, you don't generally face 300-plus pound men. When he re-entered the starting lineup later that year first because of a brief injury to Martin and then because of one to Su'a-Filo, he was much better at anchoring his base in front of the DL and using good technique to counter power.

Last year, he put on some extra size and continued to play like he did when he re-entered the lineup his rookie years. Pro Bowl-caliber, power DL are always going to give him some trouble, but he wasn't a problem at LG last year.

His competition for the starting LG spot might be Connor McGovern. McGovern is more of a power player but doesn't move as well as Williams. I won't be surprised if Williams ends up being the starting LG with McGovern and Biadasz competing for starting C.

Garcia isn't even in the conversation yet. Would love to see him develop on the practice squad into a find, though. I'm not sure he can even play guard. He doesn't have a real thick lower body and likes to play with a wide stance. Now, that could just be because he's playing left tackle, but lower-body strength/technique is very important at guard.

Connor Williams is a terrible OG, IAG has Quenton Nelson like potential at LG.

You are the king of the hyperbole.

You're comparing an undrafted free agent that played his college ball at a Mexican technical institute to the #6th draft choice who has been voted 1st team All Pro his only two years in the league? C'mon man.

You like the guy, but NO.
