Also the Saints game was one where their defense played a fantastic game. We lost by 2 points on the road when the spread was 3, but IMO the real story of that game was their defense played a great game and deserve the credit for that win.

I think of that game as one where the Saints D won it, not that Dallas lost.
Dallas’s defense also played great . Dak Just could not make the difference. And by the way Brees was not playing .

Cowboys offense scored 10 or less points in 3 winnable games against the Patriots,Saints, and Eagles for the division....but lets leave that out so we cant get full context. Cherry picking is so much more convenient when trying to justify the 40 Million Dollar Man contract

The thread epitomises the gulf in opinion.

Excellent point about the lack of production in the 3 winnable games.

So ironic as the OP evidently supported Dak.

Its the world we live in today where stats take over …..just to ignore anything that doesn't support our argument.

The Bears, Vikings, Packers and Bills didn't lose in 2019 when they scored as many points as they scored against the Cowboys.

That means those 4 games were defensive losses.
You cant blame the defense completely when the offense may score on the opening drive and than do nothing for 2.5 quarters. In the case of the GB game the offense didnt actually score a TD until there was a minute left in the 3rd quarter. You could just watch in that Bills and Bears game that the offense was being smothered after the opening drive.

I guess the 3 INTs had nothing to do with the Packers scoring as many points as they did.
I guess Dak being awful against Chicago/Buffalo had nothing to do with them scoring as much as they did.
I guess it's okay for Dak to be terrible when everything doesn't go his way. It's the other guys fault. Anything good? Dak did great. Anything Bad? It was all those other scabs messing things up. Zeke, Witten, OL, Running game, Defense, ST. They must be perfect. If not, then all poor play by Dak (or the offense as a whole when one is trying to hide what they're really doing) is excuses.
I guess it doesn't matter how bad the offense plays, if the defense doesn't play good, it's all on them.
I guess this isn't a team sport and offense/defense/and special teams don't have an impact on each other (oh wait, no, this only matters if it negatively impacts the offense, then they are excused - my bad).

It's almost like this thread was started by someone with zero understanding of how the game of football (or logic in general) works.

The 10-12 Saints loss without Brees playing was pathetic with the talent this team has. After that loss, I knew they weren't going to beat the Pats on the road either...sure nuff. The egirls loss might have been more about the team giving up on Garrett, but 9 points is still pathetic no matter how you slice it. Again, I thought with the talent this team had they could beat the Jets and Bears on the road, but they found a way to lose those games too. 5 games...win just one of them and the Cowboys make the playoffs. :(

Also, the Pack, Vikes and Bills games were all at home, and you would think they could win at least one of those because of that advantage...but no.

Why would you give EVERYONE a free pass? Some guys you can tell don't have it and you can tell some do.

Wow....some of you guys...man do you just like to argue and pick fights!

I've said it before...but i guess with YOU...I will have to be painfully slow and obvious. But...I'm am sure you'll STILL find something to fight about.

The players that make MM's roster....will all get my stamp of approval...a free pass and clean slate. It's his team now....we should give him a chance to make the most of ALL these players.

Okay...so come at me yet again.

I didn't say he made the right decision. Maybe Rush does win that game or maybe we should blame him for not having a better QB2. Bottom line it was the coaches decision.

Right. And we love and trusted our coaches decisions.

My point is *we* never got chance to see for ourselves. There's no information to make any decision either way. All we got is "we trust our coaches". I didn't see a lot of trust before, why now?

Put simply, coaching was the major factor in us missing the playoffs, just as it has been numerous time over the past decade.

No one is saying this. We are actively blaming the coach.

That is incorrect, Poepl ARE saying Rush was not a legit backup. How about in this very thread...the one I am saying peopel arew saying it in?

Original post: "Game 15: Dak injured his shoulder prior to that game. He would not have played if they had legit backup like Dalton in 2019.".

What does that have to do with trusting the coach, though? That's what you are missing.

We do not trust the coach that and injured Dak was the better play at QB. And even if you do, it's the coaches fault that we didn't have a better back-up.

What you are missing is the quesion I have been asking over and over.

How do you know cooper rush was not a legitimate backup that could come in make some plays. We've not seen him run any semblance of 1st and 2nd teamers. So HOW DO YOU KNOW?

The answer given is "well...since the coaches didn't put him in...he must not be a legit backup. "

I am not saying he is or isn't. I was never given the chance to see him run anyone but a few preseason scrubs.

Dallas was a three point road underdog in that game and they lost by 2.

By the way, Dak was still in news articles as an MVP Candidate after that game. And Dak didn't make Zeke and Witten fumble.

We've been over this before, there is no missed FG that could be pointed to that definitely cost the Cowboys a game. The only game that comes close would be the Jets game... a game which needed a 62 yard field goal to even be in that spot. People cry about the missed field goals because that's what they do, not because it makes any sense.

Missed points are missed points and are costly. Most where fairly short FG that were missed and when you put up 7 to 10 play drives and walk away with nothing it hurts. Most games are determined by 7 points or less so yeah missing FG are costly to all teams.

I really don't care what you will give them. Why would you give the whole roster a free pass? Dumbest thing I ever heard.

Are you incapable of analyzing who was good and who wasn't?

You didn’t but in on a public forum. But you had no idea with the subject matter was About That was the point. So again pay more attention please. I wasn’t trying to be rude. Pepe is a known Prescott hater. And my response was in his folder. I figured that would’ve been enough Exclamation

Zeke doesn't run the team, never has. Now....when opposing coaches game plan to stack the box.....indicates zeke is a critical part of the team. Well according to opposing NFL head coaches anyway.
Well your explanation of Zeke doesn’t run the team. It’s totally obvious. When I clearly stated pappy thinks he does. So if you’re gonna respond respond to the correct statement. Not something you just want to throw in there just because

Once again...my apologies for missing your personal attack on pappy. And that no other replies to it were welcome. {rolls eyes}
I don’t recall personally attacking him. I recall quoting him. So again wow
