It was a mistake letting Garrett Go

What outstanding job did Garrett do? What did he accomplish again? I mean, it goes both ways. If Prescott is that good like some people say, who's fault is it then that we didn't win anything?
I think his point is if he had a top offense and a couple playoff appearances with an incompetent QB as some think then garret was able to coach very well

Our most obvious mistakes were for not getting rid of JG much sooner, imho.

We wasted too many years tolerating his simplistic ways and timid decisions.

We'll see this year whether it was Garrett or Dak. I say a little of both last year. We'll see if that's the case this year.

So you’re a Dak lover pumping up your boy up indirectly via sarcasm ? Or you need a hug ? There are more appropriate ways to ask for attention than to start ridiculously titled threads.
neither a Dak lover, nor a dak hater. just trying to have a little fun....what's gotten into you?

It will be easy to quantify, all McCarthy has to do is get Dak to lead them to the NFC championship, then everybody will be happy.
no they won't. some will continue to spin it...they will say it was McCarthy and all the talent on the team and anybody else could do it

btw, if we reach NFCCG, it would a miracle job by McCarthy.....not because of Dak or the players. its new coaches, new players, new scheme, crazy off season. teams with same coaching staff and scheme will be slightly ahead...

Dak is a good Quarterback. Garrett was a bad coach here. Any coach that plays the puppet won't amount to much here. With that said, don't confuse with some of our unwillingness to spend more than a certain percentage of the salary cap on one player as us saying he sucks or that we don't want him to be our quarterback. I mean, we have people here who want to paint the world black and white and allow no shades of grey to paint their picture for their arguments. There is a difference between thinking that Dak should get paid, what is fair, and thinking that he should be the highest paid quarterback in the NFL, thinking that doing so will reduce our chances of a championship. you are trying paint the picture so that there are only people who are haters, and smart people who see how good dak is, while completely ignoring that some people want Dak as the QB here but aren't willing to break the bank for him.
I believe Stafford was at one point the highest paid QB in the league? was he the best? same with Ryan I believe. was he the best? Wilson was the highest paid QB when he signed extension, was he the best? you have to also separate the two.....

I have been reading all the Dak threads and it seems that he is such an average QB, not talented and some even say he is not worthy of starting in this league and that QBs like him are dime a dozen and can be found anywhere, any time....so Garrett had done an outstanding job, by winning to NFC east titles and going 1-2 in the playoffs, being handicapped at the most important position on the team for the past 4 years....he must have not realized he has hit fools gold in 2016......

I guess we should have kept Garrett, given what he accomplished with such an average to below average QB...

There’s fans on this board that will tell you the moon landing was staged. I’ve seen the posts! That gives you a pretty good idea of what you’re dealing with here.

Garret created a losing mold and was too hard headed to make changes.

I think it is kinda funny, the fans that are 100% behind Dak, use his stats, W-L record, etc as a measuring stick as to why he is worth 35+ million per year. And turn around and use the same numbers as reason to fire Garrett. They each won and lost the same games (and both played a part in each win and loss). They won the same number of playoff games, Dak was a very flawed 4th round pick that according to Dak guys has grown into a top 5 QB under the coaching of Garrett. I like Garrett and I think he will do fine in NY and will be a HC again. But I was 100% behind not bringing him back, I think both the team and Garrett needed something different. I know its a lot of fun to bash on the guy with all the group think that goes on around here, but if you think Dak is all that then you should at least thank Garrett for the work he put in with Dak and if you think Garrett didn't have a hand in Dak's development or Romo's development, then you shouldn't be allowed to watch football ever again.

My God.. the extent people go to?? I think we need to see some more stats! lol Where's the Romo haters club? Everything was his fault until now. Cause oddly enough, if you hate Romo, you love Dak?? Seems to be the case 99% of the time around here. Garrett was crap there's no doubt about it. Still doesn't justify the paycheck. I don't care what other QBs are getting. Those teams are stupid. Dak isn't worth a huge deal. Would like to see him and McCarthy on the tag. I'd even tag him twice. average of the top 5 for 2 years then a huge deal. See where that gets you. But just throwing top money at him, that makes sense to people? Winning needs to be the priority, not whether Dak is living high on the hog no matter what he 'settles' for. This bickering back and forth has become pretty ridiculous. This guy is going to get paid but how the team handles it is more important to me as a fan that wants to see an organization win postseason football games.... for a change!
