He was my shining light for years in my darkest days under Jerry.

Obviously after all of these discussions you’ve never grasped my support of Garrett.

Oh its been grasped quite well. Lying about it wont change that.

How many times did you brag about Garretts culture here?

I’m really looking forward to see if all of our issues were coaching or could it have been possibly more about our talent or lack of it in certain areas.

I defended that he was helping the culture here with Jerry. And I’d still argue he had some positive influence on our dysfunctional organization.

I also started a thread back in November it was time for him to go.

100%.

Now that we just wrapped up our young core for the next 4-5 years with contracts over the last 2 years...……..do you think this is the time to lose or the time to win?
It's the Cowboys, embrace confusion.
Seriously, I think We have enough pieces to be good, a few more pieces and a little luck, maybe SB good.

I have been reading all the Dak threads and it seems that he is such an average QB, not talented and some even say he is not worthy of starting in this league and that QBs like him are dime a dozen and can be found anywhere, any time....so Garrett had done an outstanding job, by winning to NFC east titles and going 1-2 in the playoffs, being handicapped at the most important position on the team for the past 4 years....he must have not realized he has hit fools gold in 2016......

I guess we should have kept Garrett, given what he accomplished with such an average to below average QB...

Shame on me for not reading the OP. The title of thread was misleading. This is another bashing Dak thread. Not about Garrett. I really don’t want to be a part of this.

I have definitely been on the "don't pay Dak" side. That said, I really haven't seen that many people saying Dak sucks. Most people among the "don't pay him" group have him around 10th for QB's. There are a few people who radically feel different and they have been vocal but I don't think that's the majority.

Personally, I think that the QB position has become overrated. There are now a lot of good QB's who can throw the ball. Give them a good coach, line, receivers and a running game and there are a bunch of people who will look good as QB.

Also, I think that Garret's biggest failings were one or two decisions in game many times per season, special teams and letting Marinelli get away with murder on defense. I really don't think Garret was making QB's look bad regularly, particularly last year. The only year I had a big problem was 2018 with Linehan.

Your shining light that changed the culture in Dallas. LOL

Sounds a little like a guy that thought Garrett was a good coach doesn't it?

LOL...………..So you thought it was about Garrett and swooped in to defend your hero?

Because he was your "shining light in a dark time". :lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:

But now that you find out its about Dak you aren't interested eh?

I guess you don't want to defend your "average QB"?

Not changed but helped influence. Words and interpretation are critical.

I thought Garrett was a better influence than we’d had amongst our other Puppets. I didn’t directly support his Game Day coaching ability. There’s a sharp line there. And it’s important to define it.

I saw Garrett’s weaknesses in coaching but I supported his influences off the field as it appeared to be helping build a better culture with Jerry and assembling more talent.

Claiming we had a talent dependent team is an indirect slam on your coaching.

Yeah it's true people hate on everyone and fail to connect how they impact one another. Its like saying we have a loaded roster and our FO is awful.

I am not bashing Dak….that wasn't my intention. I was hoping my emoji at the end would give away the sarcasm I intended for the Dak bashing crowd...I guess I failed

But you said Garrett was your shining light?
Yes . The context is critical.

He was my hope of potentially influencing Jerry’s toxic atmosphere and dysfunctional organization.

Garrett initially provided me some hope of overcoming Jerry. I saw a culture , drafts and team building that was improving despite his coaching flaws. That provided me a glimmer of hope that if we assembled enough talent it might finally get us there.

Sure seems like you see Garrett as helping build the culture here as you say quite plainly here:

Personally , I like the culture Garrett’s helped build here.

You said Garrett was "my shining light in a dark time" That's a little more then glimmer. LOL

That sounds like love to be honest.

Your attempts to try and soften your support of Garrett only makes you look worse.

I don't know why people pretend there isn't a lunatic fringe of extremely loud and extremely online Dak turbo-haters who say things like "he can't throw!" and want him off the team at ANY PRICE. For that handful of ultra-morons, yeah, it makes no sense to blame Garrett for going 8-8 if you really believe Dak is indistinguishable from Qunicy Carter or whatever.

Most reasonable Dak critics are more of the "he's fine but not at X price" variety, in which case there's no contradiction in wanting Garrett gone for being trash while also not wanting to overshoot whatever Dak's value in your head is. I might think X is bigger than they think it is but that's a different conversation than "He's THE WORST EVER AND A BAD PERSON" which is just garbage for babies.

Correct. But I stop short in saying the change is enough. Again the wording and interpretation is critical.

If you followed the local beat writers and media which I often align with they were all touting the influence Garrett was having on Jerry including the culture, drafts , personnel Mgmt and team building.

Don't worry Jason, things will work out for you in new York. Won't take long for you to pull another fast one and push Joe judge out the building. Make sure Cooper rush remembers your 2 page playbook so he's ready when his time comes ..
