As with anything like this you can not compare eras. The Jimmy teams would blow them out of the water. Relative to their respective eras it would be extremely close.

Why do we have to start these debates? Obviously, most of the fans on here never saw the 70's cowboys that made 5 super bowl appearances.

Jimmy's team. Because players were bigger and stronger. NFL players have become year round HGH ridden physical specimens.

Different game in Coach Landry's era. I think it would depend on what era of Football each team had to play in. Remember, lots of rule changes between the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

Yes I know that. I think it’s a different game he catches that ball but that’s speculation . But if you recall. We are only down six points at the end of the game. Starbuck what a great comeback
We were actually only down by 4 at the end of the game, but it took 2 TD's in the last 3 minutes to get us that close.

For one game it's a tough call anything could happen but say they play 10 games, i give the edge to JJ team 7-3 and i am old enough to have watched both teams. That 92 Team was something else

Specifically, the rules changes along the OL are significant, in terms of what you could do with your hands. A lot of fans believe that the size of the Cowboys OL in the 90s would dominate but it would actually have been a disadvantage if you were playing under the blocking rules in place in the 60s and 70 IMO. Smaller, more mobile OLs were needed then because you could not reach out and just physically dominate the Defense the way you can now. Was much, much tougher to hold back in the day. Today, OLs can basically hold at will. You had to be able to move your feet and you had to be able to pull and block downfield because you couldn't use your hands the way you can today. That's a really big difference in terms of what personnel work for you. So again, it really depends on what NFL you are playing the game in IMO.

A tie would be perfect. Both teams equal. Just a dream right?

Laundry was around a lot longer so I would want him to win but honestly, I think JJ's team would stomp them in the ground. Why? The technology difference and I think JJ's guys were just quicker as well as being hogs up front.

Well, if you had to play the game in the 70s or the 60s, the technology wouldn't be available to you, theoretically.

As far as being quicker, I don't see that. The OLs of the 60s and 70s were much more mobile IMO. The 90s OL was powerful, strong but they relied on getting their hands on you. Couldn't do that in the 70s and 60s. That was a penalty every time.

It was the best game I’ve ever seen for a Super Bowl. I actually broke a 26 inch share Consol TV. I learned my lesson because they were expensive then. Smith doesn’t drop the ball we very well may win that game. And that would’ve been the best team ever for Cowboys in my opinion . I wonder how many people would’ve called them garbage time points. You know it

That could have been a momentum shifter for sure. We also fumbled a kickoff return in the 4th quarter that led to a quick, easy Pittsburg score. Both of those were big plays that hurt the cause badly.

The 93 Cowboys are a top 5 team all time w/ the 92 Cowboys right there with them.

Slight edge to 93 due to 0-2, no Emmitt start of season and the fact they were never really pressed until the Leon Lett/TG game leading to the Giants game classic to end the regular season.

The dismantling of the scorching hot Niners in the NFC Title game was the mark of a mature champion that knew it was the best football team on the planet vs the 92 team that didn't quite grasp how good they were until the Bills brains had been beaten in.
