Has he, or have we just brought in that much more talent at WR? I wonder....

I'd like to think it's some of both! Dak has improved in some respects, although, not all. There's time for more development. Hopefully it'll come. The influx of talented WRs and developing youngsters already in house is encouraging to me. Let's see what MM and his crew can do to improve things. He's widely known to be adept at developing his QBs. Let's see what he can do with Dak, as things proceed. Cee Dee will help, yet more, to make that job easier.

He passes my eyeball test when I watch him make throws and evidently passed Aikman's as well.

My favorite pass of his to watch is the most difficult in the game for a righty, the moving to the left and coming across the body and he is definitely unorthodox in executing that with both feet off the ground so he can rotate his body but he's pretty nifty at that.

There is no question about what you are saying though, and then some. Prescott has had the most QB friendly offense, not just WR's but RB, OL and TE. since he came into the NFL and he's about to experience one that should be even more friendly.

Which brings me to my stance on Prescott. The guy taking over has something to prove, he was fired and his replacement took his team to the NFCCG and the Cowboys were not his only option, the Giants with less pressure were very interested in him. He, at least from what I see, is a Prescott fan and if the guy that knows a hell of a lot more about QBing at that level than I do is willing to ride with him for his redemption ride, that's good enough for me.

When I don't really know, I tend to go with the people that do know more. Including in this forum, I pay close attention to the X's & O's guys here but counter some of that with people paid to do it should know more about doing it. But then there's Garrett's crew and that theory spirals into a blaze.

Provide me with stats that shows his inaccuracy that's all I ask.

Let's see how the excuse train goes with these Dak-Trolls.

1.BS Stats which are mostly against Dog teams or in Garbage time losses.
2. Coaching is responsible.
3. How dare the defense allow 12 pts(Saints game) ....How dare they!!!
4. Special teams stink.
5. We have 1 injury and what do you want Dak needs a perfect set up jeez.
6. Haters!!!!

And therein lies the rub between what others think he should get paid v what he feels he should be paid.

If I were to look at this through his eyes, see where he was and how far he's come since coming in as a fall back 4th rounder, I might see this better. When anyone here looks at this objectively, can anyone say he hasn't done his job better than anyone else on the team except maybe Martin? Has his play been why the team hasn't advanced in the playoffs? I ask myself is he good enough to lead and take this team to the Big Dance? The answer is yes, with no reservations. Do I think Romo could have taken a better team? Same answer.

While some choose to make this all about the QB, I watch teams with "that guy" get one ring and watch the D's of the two NFCCG teams be the difference last season. And while posters go on about Mahomes, I watched Chris Jones. The Titans took a run game and D to the AFCCG.

I don't think we really know who or what McCarthy wants to ride with. I think we know that we are in a position to either sign Dak long term or move on and the position we've taken is to tag him for one year. That's really all that I can say, at this point, that is definitive in this area. So what does that really say? I think the jury is still out there, to a degree.

So you have nothing lol. Other than your feelings. I think not being able to overcome an injury is on the coaching staff not the qb. No way our staff should allow an injury to exploit the team. Which has happened on numerous occasions both offensively and defensively. The special teams were ranked 30th in the nfl. Does that not stink?

Im still waiting for stats to show his accuracy was bad. You got anything?

I mean it’s true. No QB in the history of the NFL has started their career with a better OL and RB combo. Now his receivers on the other hand, have not always been up to snuff but that was reflected in his bottom of the league passing TD totals the first three years.
How many games has Elliot missed. We lost our starting center wide receiver and tight end. I don’t agree with that statement. We’ve been in turmoil more than we’ve been solid

Mahomes has really, really good weapons and an excellent, future Hall of Fame coach.

Therefore, he isn't any good.

This is the logic we are being asked to swallow.
Did you watch Mahomes in last year Super Bowl or playoffs. He was absolutely horrible. Other than hail Mary’s I’m with Terry Bradshaw I think he’s overrated

2016 was the only year we were solid across the board.

I don't really love McCarthy's Defensive hires. They may end up being great, I hope they are but I'm not impressed, to be honest. I loved Nolan when he was younger but after watching him for a lot of years, he strikes me as a bit of a defensive Jason Garrett. If he has great talent, he can make some things happen but he's not going to out coach guys. I really hope I'm wrong and this entire board ridicules me over this but we will see what happens.

Preach he was horrendous in the beginning of that divisional game against the texans. His special teams and defense bailed him out. Imagine if dak had 3 str8 drives in a row start in the opponents territory. Just for a quick reference he only had 1 drive start in the opponents territory all season.

There is so much that we do not know that we must make some assumptions in order to form an opinion worth defending.

I am assuming McC likes Prescott and what he's seen from him vs what else he had to choose from. I imagine a lot of the conversation in that interview centered around the QB position.

Agree on the jury out, we can't even come close to an agreement in this forum on where he is as a QB, let alone where we think he might end up.

I agree. In fact, it would be nice if we had a thread that only discussed what we actually know. Unfortunately, it never stays that way so it's pretty much an impossibility.

Yes.

Mahomes is horrible.

You run with that.
I will. Why you thought he was good had a great Super Bowl. Overthrowing receivers under throwing receivers actually aiming the football at one point. Definitely overrated I don’t care what anybody says. It’s the team it’s the coaching.

I won't ridicule you since I agree with you.

There are people so aligned with this team that the minute a coach or player becomes a part of it, they begin selling themselves. I have debated Nolan in other threads and gave up because he doesn't carry his own bags but the baggage of the teams he was on. His many, many stops during his career were with all bad teams and the last two stops were not as the DC and I think that is for a good reason.

However, I don't know what other choices McC had for a DC so Nolan could be the cutest pick of an ugly litter.
