Dak has a real accuracy problem when he is pressured or when the team is not playing well.
If the Cowboys are beating up on a weaker team he plays well, too.
But when the pressure is on, he chokes and gets really inaccurate.
This isn't a stat. We've all seen it happen way too many times.

No we haven’t all seen it too many times.

No, I'm comparing him to other QB's. There just aren't stats out there to really back it up because completion percentage data is a factor of a lot of things. Personally, I think if you were to put all of the NFL QB's in a pure throwing accuracy competition, Dak would come out near the bottom. He just makes up for it with a lot of other things.

Dak couldn't do this IMO:

LOLLLLLLLLLL

OMG we are now using videos of a guy throwing at a net in his backyard to argue about Dak’s accuracy.

Holy freaking crap has this argument jumped the shark.

Dak only has an accuracy problem on a couple of routes. Short crossers over the middle and fades.

Every other route he is a very accurate QB and more accurate than the large majority of QB’s. Especially on deep balls where he is VERY accurate.

End of discussion.

But understand this is not a accurate way to gauge someone's accuracy. Its like using a 40 time to gauge how fast a guy is. I've seen Tim Tebow take part in these competitions and look good in them and suck on the field. It means absolutely NOTHING. Why would I gauge someone's accuracy on how they throw to a non moving target with no defender over actual games with actual competition? It makes no sense.

I've never seen such people reach for such low attempts at trying to discredit someone lol.

I think it's accurate to say that a lot of fans bring up the passed balls but not the wild pitch:laugh:
I think it's also accurate to say that if you poke fun at Dak your health could take a serious turn for the worse
I am going to bring up Dak's habit last year.

It was that for a number of weeks..Dak would throw a pass directly at a DB.

The DB would be so stunned it would hit him in the chest and drop it.

Now this was not just once in awhile. It happened alot.

You guys know what I am saying. Most of them would have been returned for Pick 6s and people would have lit up Dak over it.

So while it never happened..Dak was serving up inaccurate balls alot.

Those things just got noted as incomplete but they were potentially game ending.

So I bring it up only to see a more complete picture.

We all have to know what we are getting with Dak.

It's a mixed bag of beans.

Again, for the difference in money b/w Dalton and Dak and the screaming defensive needs Dak's re-purposed salary cap could provide this year and next..

it just seems a no brainer to me what to do.

Does anybody REALLY think Dak is going to improve when he gets the big contract in history?

If getting to the playoffs and going one and done is where we are..

DALTON.

My 2 cents all day.

Then sign a FA QB or draft one.

We will need to lose pretty badly to get a top 3 pick for a QB, too.

Everybody OK with that?

No?

Dalton.

It's the only way to fix our team.

And I also think Dalton could take us if we give him a D that does not give up 35 pts a game.

Dak has an issue when he plays against teams who happen to be double digit dogs ( New York Jets & AAA Eagles) on game day or teams with winning records. I think we can all agree 8 - 8 just doesn't cut it when many "EXPERTS" picked this team last season to go all the way. Dak needs to come down from his ivory tower with pen in hand, sign a contract that he and JJ can live with and get BUSY!

The whole football world discusses Dak's inaccuracy issues more than any other quarterback.

It's kind of a real thing.
Not to the stat religion, and yes it is at biblical level.
The reason why stats are so inferior in identifying talent.
If stats where the defining line when determining ones talent level than why does every team in the league have talent scouts on their active pay roll?
Wouldn't it save so much money just logging in to the internet and evaluating the stats.
You wouldn't have to pay a single one of those moron so called scouts, that actually still use a god given resource called eyes and brain.

Just being honest here.
I think Dak struggles with his accuracy. Our receivers make up for his accuracy which brings his percentage up.
I do think Big Mike has a good chance to fix it. Dak is still relatively a young man.

We should all remember how terrible the coaches were under Jason Garrett. That's probably the reason Dak never really improved under Garrett.
It's to bad the Cowboys didn't fire Garrett the year before. If we would hired Big Mike last season we would have had a better chance to see if he could improve on Daks skills.

Especially going into Daks contract year.

Crazy how front running against horrendous teams have turned you into a joke

funny you picked one response, in one thread, out of over 100s of posts I have had. but you forgot to mention that I said, last year, lets not sign Dak until end of th eyear, even it costs more. those were some concerns I had. its funny you pick and choose one response to distort what I have said, that's pretty low and disgusting move, but then again, its you billiejean….I am not surprised.

last year, I said, I had concerns over his accuracy, I also said, its because of his footwork and if he improves his footwork, then his accuracy will come, given he doesn't trust himself and he arm throws.....and if he does improve, then we are sure about our future QB and paying a few more per year, doesn't matter..

which is where I stand now, and have said it since middle of the season..

wow, can you stoop any lower!? you have had some funny, stupid posts, do you really want me to go dust them off and show everyone the level of stupidity you can get too?

now, you did a good job of comparing in a vaccum…(imagine I am patting you like a good kid on top of your head).

now can you compare it to all the other QBs in the league, when they play under pressure and against better teams?

boom mic drop

Excuses. A dak-stan’s specialty. You said he was inaccurate at the end of last season. Now you in here all goofy, mocking those that share the same thoughts on Dakota that you did.

Dont be mad that I called you out, and embarrassed you :laugh::laugh:

I feel what ails Dak is more of an inconsistency problem these days. His accuracy comes and goes. The inconsistency continues, to no surprise. He's currently being coached by Jon Kitna, who seemed to help him considerably a while back. I'm hoping it continues indefinitely, regardless of who's doing the coaching. Kitna earned a fine reputation for helping QBs with their footwork, which Dak has been criticized for in the past. The jumpy feet have long been a bad habit of his when he's under pressure. Of course, that lessens to an extent when the protection is sound. He never had the benefit of good pass protection in college. It's not been a sure thing during his time with the Cowboys, although his rookie year was an exception.

Dak is so accurate, he threw that pinpoint touchdown pass to Amari Cooper against the Giants in the season opener last year.

Neither Brady, Peyton, Brees, Marino, Mahomes, Rodgers or Romo ever threw a pass to Cooper!
