All the rumblings out there is the Jets want to keep Jamal Adams, but will listen to offers. The Cowboys reportedly called them last year and offered a 1st rd pick and Anthony Brown, where the Jets wanted a 1st rd pick, a 2nd rounder and either Tyron Smith or Zach Martin. What would be your package?

This probably wouldn't be enough:

#1, Jaylon Smith, Xavier Woods and Jourdin Lewis

You would almost have to send them back a quality starter who they can control for a few seasons
No that wouldn’t do it. Most trades happening in the NFL today involve giving up draft picks. And because of cap implications, most trades don’t involve guys with big contracts- like Jaylon Smith.

Getting Jamal Adams would be a great acquisition, but I believe too many fans see him as “must have”. It’s a little like buying a car- I would love to have a Corvette. Most guys would probably love one. But two points on that:
1. I don’t have to have one to have a good life. 2. I could afford a different car that would accomplish the same thing at an affordable price.

question, does he play QB? Just askin.. never have I seen a safety be the final piece to a Championship team.

I don't believe he is the final piece by no means as the defense is several pieces away nor would give such an offer for a strong safety. Just speculating what it would truly take to give an offer the Jets simply cannot refuse.

I dont think they will trade him. I think they mean it. A 2021 2ND AND 2022 2ND.

I including Jaylon in this fantasy offer cause the Jets wanted either Tyron or Martin last year.

I didnt say name one i said how many
THERES Peyton Manning, Russel Wilson I believe after he was drafted took the TEAM to the SB. Drew Brees in NO after they got him it wasnt long before they won the SB. Without these guys I mentioned, they dont win it all. Conversely, name me a safety that elevated his new team to a SB . maybe back in the day safety was hugely important, but not now. Its important, but not one of those things were you have to pay a kings ransom for a guy.

I view Gallup as an untouchable, especially on his current contract. Which young starter would you consider offering? Collins/Jaylon/Lve?

None of those. Gallup is a luxury and will want 15 million at least in two years.

Gallup is the obvious trade piece. Our offense probably wouldn’t miss a beat.

you guys saying give a 1st are just not thinking through the salary cap implications....we already gave up the benefit of a 1st on amari so we dont have the benefit of that rookie contract on a starter and to do it again is just going to make things harder.

This isnt madden, you just cant throw 1sts around with no implications...is the guy worth a 1st, sure, is he worth a 1st to our team with our current cap situation, no.
^^this^^. I'm not the only one saying this.

Dak, & Gallup for Sam Darnold, Jamal Adams and a 2021 2nd round pick.

The team has no cap issues.

I see your point but it doesnt apply here. I rethought the whole situation the other day after the Elliott contract disaster was realized. If with that, I cant see who the team would want to retain that they couldnt if Adams were dealt for.

Wilson and Brees weren’t the “final” pieces on those teams. Im not arguing S is more important than Qb, just stating its rare for a QB to be the final piece to the puzzle.
