Which player in NFL history would you draft No. 1?

I'm gonna pick someone who can make everyone on the team better. Going with Barry Sanders.
This dude (?) would choose Barry Sanders no. 1 over a Quarterback :laugh::laugh:

A running back that had 1 good playoff game out of 6:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

As if we needed more proof that you dont know what the hell you’re talking about when it comes to football :laugh::laugh::laugh:

John Elway.
Not that he had such great success, but he took a 5-11 Broncos squad to a Super Bowl many times.
Not that he didn't do some dumb things; he did. But he was on his own for many years and until Mike Shanahan, he carried the Broncos on his shoulders.
Elway endured terrible coaching, yet still made his team a contender.
I honestly believe that he is the best quarterback in the history of the NFL. His presence of mind was different from that of most other players, seemingly always knowing where he was at and having a perspective that can't be taught when it came to looking at the game.
I had hoped Dallas would somehow get him when he came into the NFL, but the Broncos made the deal.
I sincerely believe that he was the most athletic, smartest, and most gifted quarterback to ever play the game.
And I believe Kellen Moore would have been just as good if he had been given the chance.

I may be guilty of recency bias, but it's tough to go against Patrick Mahomes. He's the guy I'd want to build my team around.

My first thought was Montana,or Brady, but I have to agree. This kid has only 2 seasons as a starter and was an off-sides penalty on Dee Ford away from maybe being the world champ both years. He is not even a finished product and he's already amazing.

It explains the unsubstantiated bias for Dakota.........as if we didn’t already know

Was a joke. I know you think mahomes is over rated. The Sweetness was amazing. Was just jabbing at you. Lol.
Yes I think Mahomes is overrated. But I also think in today’s NFL he is elite. And that’s the point I’m trying to make people understand but it goes over their head. Prescott is garbage but Mahomes is great . One is a stupid as the other Yes I know I said I was stupid LOL

Imagine being up 4 in the morning up in arms about MY OPINION on taking the best running back of all time.

Mind you some people took Bo Jackson.
Some took linebackers.
Some took Sweetness.......

But Willie Beamen us up in arms about me taking Barry Sanders over Tom Brady.

You so full of hatred in your heart you can't even go to bed at night. Sad.

Reggie White or Lawrence Taylor. Sell the farm and get both. Can you imagine those two on the same team?

I don't know if I've seen a wrong answer to this question (except may Dexter Coakley and I know you were joking @jazzcat22) One of the all-time QB's make sense but in a pinch, I'm going with Randy White. I know...he's too small but watch some footage. My favorite player ever.

I was considering Randy White, can't go wrong with him.

Remember you're saying in your opinion this the greatest player in NFL history.

I struggled between Reggie White, Dan Marino, and Randy Moss but decided my choice would be Marino. No player IMO did so much with so little.

Who a person would draft #1 doesn't necessarily have to be who they think is the best player in NFL history. For example, a person might think Reggie White, Jerry Rice or Jim Brown is the best player, but might draft Tom Brady because he thinks it's more important to build around a QB.

For me, Reggie White is the best player in NFL history, but it would be hard for me to pass on the most successful QB in NFL history (Tom Brady). It would also be hard for me to draft Brady because I don't like him. lol

There really can only be one answer....if you don’t draft the goat at the games most important position (by a mile), then what are you thinking?
So, you're going with Joe Montana then.
