NFL teams are reportedly concerned not just about his durability, but they doubt his work ethic & question his dedication to football. As a result, no team has been willing to come near his asking price. No thank you! We have enough drama with our QB.

On a one year deal in a heart beat. This is the kind of thing we should be seeking out. Infinitely better than any other option we currently have opposite Lawrence. Hungry and on a one year deal could be scary.

Doing this deal would be all about trying to get a 3rd comp pick for him. If he would accept a 1 year deal for $7-8 million, you could then try and set him up for success and hope someone gives him a huge deal next year. The only real cost would be whichever bottom of the depth chart DE you might not be able to sneak to the PS. I’d at least be intrigued by this situation but I’d like the Gregory and Adams things to resolve themselves first.

Clowney is having to drum up interest from elsewhere because Seattle has had zero other bidders.
This is to me a case where Clowney will take any best offer back to SEA to match.
That's what we had been told until now and it makes sense.

All that said, I don't see teams being overly interested in aging vets in this COVID climate.
Why sign a dude this second and give him GTD money when we may not have a real season.
Clowney is example of playing year to year trying to get that mega-deal can backfire.

We already took a chance on 2 DT that are older. I think Gregory is playing.. He was actually coming along when he played. Get him through a training camp.

Clowney is younger than Aldon and Tank. He is only 27.

Buyer Beware on Clowney. With all that talent, how come he hasn't had a 10 sack season? Why have 2 separate teams decided not to retain him? In my opinion, he's like David Irving, flashes such athletic ability, but is always hurt and inconsistent. Much rather do a 1 yr deal on Everson Griffin if they decided to sign another DE.

That's exactly how I read that article. "Clowney is willing to play for team X" really means his agent is signalling that he is willing to take a one year rebound contract.

1000% .......but I wonder if playing 3-4 LBer held him back a bit. I've read/seen comments from former coaches who've said judging him by sacks is a bit unfair coz he has a lot of destructive plays that done show on the stat sheet. That being said, you right coz at the end of the day his position is judge by sacks.
