All I’ve heard reported so far is they’re changing the name and the logo. If they change the theme it’s going to be a night and day change. It’s going to be a completely different team. This has got to be killing their fans. They’re even going to have to change their theme song. lol
Colors are most likely staying but no native American themes is what was reported...
the east just isn't the east without the Cowboys eagles giants and skins.
move washington to the west and bring back the cardinals.
and an original Nfc East rival....tho they moved from st louis to arizona. It would be nice to have at least one other Division foe NOT on the East Coast....
you didnt read enough lolSaw an article that a realtor in VA bought all the rights to all of the good potential names. He got them all. I am guessing he wants top dollar and a percentage of all merchandise sales and name usage. He got all the good names such as Warriors, Red Tails, Red Wolves. This is making the choice very complicated.
So it’s going to be the Washington code talkers. lol
you didnt read enough lol
he paid 20,000 for each name, and just wrote the nfl that they could have them all for free !
I guess he made too much money as a realtor.
So far no response from nfl.
ok cool, I doubt snyder would pay the guy anything lol, he strikes me as a tight wad. That was not in the article I read. I just searched and it is in some of the other articles on the subject. But, the latest (I guess) from him is:
""I think ten days of offering to give the NFL my trademarks for free is enough," McCaulay tweeted. "My new answer will be something vague like I never expected anything but I will entertain any offer they want to make."
I also saw in the article that Daniel Snyder likes the name Warriors and actually had the trademark for the name but let it lapse a few years ago. That article also suggested that the new name will be new and not one of the names being talked about in public.
Many Washington fans won’t let go easy and will continue wearing the old logo and name to games. We’ll see if there’s a grace period at their stadium or they put a stop to it immediately.
"They" will be coming after the Cowboys. Count on it. Such gender exclusivity cannot be tolerated.I know we aren't allowed to discuss politics here, so I want to be extremely careful here with how I phrase this, lest I tread over the line:
While we talk about our rivals undergoing their Washington name change..........is our own Cowboys' team name itself safe?
For instance, there is already a movement afoot to get the Texas Rangers baseball team renamed. It's not hard to envision that same logic being used by some people a decade or so down the road against the Cowboys.
