Giants fan here. Not an enemy though. My own son is a huge Cowboys fan and I flew him to Dallas to watch his Cowboys twice. There are plenty of Cowboys fans who can vouch for me. The heck, I watched Cowboys-Giants game at Metlife with @YosemiteSam

With all that said, something my son and I agree on is Dak being a product of Cowboys offensive strength in Offensive Line and Zeke and above avg WR’s.

Dak isn’t bad. But he isn’t the world beater either. He isn’t Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees or Tom Brady. Yet he is asking to be paid as such.

Let him go Dallas. You won’t be sorry.

P.S. I will not post on this thread again. My son asked me to start this thread so he could read counter arguments. Please be respectful knowing a teenage Cowboys fan will be reading what you write about his father.

Peace!

You can win with Dak at the right price, but he seems to want top tier money and he is not worth that.
In order to win with him he will need a great defense, and paying him too much with see to it that that doesnt happen

I mean if you let him go, then you are stuck in the draft. A first round QB has about a 2/3 of being a bust (more of being worse than Dak of course) based on the past few years. Assuming you draft a QB every 3 years in the first round that means on average it will take 3 first round picks and 6 years to find a QB who you can win with.

Respect! Way to encourage young minds!

I am very conflicted on the whole issue.

First off, and the one that matters the least, I think Dak is a wonderful person. I know that does not amount to a hill of beans on the field with the exception that I believe that other players want to play for him.

Second, when allowed to be a QB that is allowed to run, he turns into a different QB. I struggle with how much we see is wholly him and how much Garret / Linehan holding back what his true best style of football should be.....

I guess that is the only reason I think that him playing on the tag this year with good coaches might end up being the best for the Cowboys. If he plays lights out then he gets a bigger contract than if he signed before the deadline....but he will have truly earned it.

Any way...that is my 2 cents......

You’re a giants fan and your son is a teenager, I wouldn’t ever engage in meaningful sports talk with either. Your son has good taste though!

He'll never be a Trent Dilfer. Or a Joe Flacco!
Couldn't touch performing like Eli Manning for his career...

Those guys were the model of QB excellence and consistency.

And thank goodness they had a garbage D, like most championship teams...

Poor guy...………….…..you guys just put Garrett in charge of your offense. LOL

Garrett is hands down one of the worst OC's I have ever seen. Poor Jones.

Dak will continue to flourish without the horrid Garrett holding him and the rest of the team back.

We can win with Dak at a reasonable price however he is asking for way to much.

It doesn't matter how great the offense is or the impressive stats they put up. You're not winning without a competitive defense. I'm growing tired of Dak honestly. Would rather spend the money on key pieces on the defense

Let Dak go, start Dalton for 1-2 years while we draft Dalton's replacement. In the meantime, sign every good defensive free agent you can get with the $40 million per year that Dak would have wanted.

Dalton + strong offense + strong defense
> Dak + strong offense + weak defense.

One year at a time. As for this season, Dallas cannot let him walk even if they wanted. He is currently under contract and Dallas owes him big time money. Too late for any walking away.

Lmao. Well your son should see how terrible your takes are. For one, this OL has not been that great since his rookie year. Above average WRs? Cooper is so hit and miss. Dez was at the tail end of his great productivity.

Did you even mention Dak playing for the worst coaching staff in the NFL who has zero idea how to prep or adjust? Sure didn't.

Another terrible take about Dak. Par for the course.
