CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Again, Dak had ONE YEAR where he threw over 4000 yards. Bortles close to 4500 yards in 2015. He did that with ALLEN HURNS starting and nowhere near the lineup Dak had

We were still 1-7 when Dak passed over forty times and we were 17th in the league in red zone scoring and 22nd on the road. I remember reading a stat that 10 of our 15 scores in the red zone were in the first three games.

He proved himself as mediocre, not just average, when Zeke was suspended for 6 games, Cooper wasn’t here and the offense was “Dak-friendly” and Smith rests because he tweaks something.

What has Dak really proven? That it takes four years to take advantage of man coverage on the outside with one deep safety?

Winston is the BEST QB in the NFL!!!!:omg:

Stevie is one of the worst public negotiators I have ever been witness to.

On Zeke: "Gurley's price is the floor"
Uh... he was the top paid RB at the time.
Constantly praising Dak, puffing him up and saying the deal will get done and NO, we're not looking in any other direction.
Got totally railroaded by DLaw...
The guy is always going to shoot his own team in the foot with that process.
It’s a family tradition. ;)

they should of used the lower tag on him and let him try for a contract adn then the team could of matched but i really think jerry thought he could get a contract done i dont think he expected cca and dak to pull the offer after the first three games last season and now i think that has caused lots of problems for both as far as getting a deal done with dak

I wasn't describing how the system works. I was describing how it should work. A player should be paid based on his actual value to team, not overpayed from an inflated system.

I can't agree more. But you'll run into a problem. A player may be more valuable to another team. So you either pay him his inflated cost, or someone else will.

So many Cowboys fans have hated him for the entire 4 years and painted him to be a totally inept QB. Here is yet another opinion that shows he is nowhere near as bad as the CowboysZone critics try to paint him to be.

Sadly, they will probably try to use a ranking of 12th as validation their over-the-top criticism was warranted.

And spare me the money BS. He was hated at $4 million over $4 years.

Funny how people with better evaluation skills are labeled haters by you. Maybe you should go watch some film and learn to understand what you are seeing. Or maybe you should take off your rose-colored glasses when you watch Dak play. He isn't anything special and can easily be replaced. You don't pay and average to below average player top money.

You're right. But when another team overplays for a player, they're usually shooting themselves in the foot. That was true with the Eagles and DeMarco Murray. They overpaid and he didn't even fit their system.

Thank you so much for sharing how you think life “should” work.

Let us know when you’ve accepted this inconvenient thing called “reality.”

So guess you're against fans sharing their views. If that's the case, why are you even on a fan site whose purpose is letting fans share their views. I guess back in the '79 AFC Championship when the Oilers got hozed out of going to the Super Bowl when the replay clearly showed they had scored a touchdown, no fan anywhere should have voiced any disapproval. Reality, ya know. No one should ever have spoken up with what they believed the league should be like, that is, a league that corrects bad calls via instant replay. Reallity, ya know. Just accept things the way they are and never question anything like a good little minion.

Yes, I think how salaries are negotiated in the NFL are in dire need of reform. No, I will not shut up about it just because some other fan's opinion is I just just accept it as is. It is a little strange that you seem to have no problem voicing your opinion on an NFL opinion page, but think other fans should just say "reality" and shut up.

Before you respond, answer this yes or no question: Should fans have complained about bad calls not being overturned by replay? Yes or no.

Or maybe you should learn the difference between a hater and someone who evaluates him. That might be too difficult of a task for you though. Or my words punched you in the gut because you are a hater who thinks he evaluates him. I’d have to review your posting history but I don’t have the time or desire quite yet.

I know. But that didn't help the Cowboys. We still lost him.

A tier 2 qb who wants to be paid like a top tier 1 qb. If he can get there this year than pay him. If not than pay him what he deserves in the tier 2.

I do agree it didn't help the Cowboys but also agree you can't pay a RB that kinda money.... the FAIL in that scenario was what they tried to replace him with.....I still say Zeke is great and you can't pay the RB position too much as the drop between good and great at that position is generally smaller than most positions.

The article won't display for some reason, but I agree with this quote:

"According to the men whose job it is to coach and evaluate NFL players, Dak is the 12th-best QB in the league and in the second tier of quarterbacks."

That's totally true, so Dak should be paid like a 2nd-tier QB who is 12th best in the league. He's good. He's not great.
33 million is top 2 tier.

Seriously ? Spin much ? It’s people like you who use the word “hate”. There are a lot of us on this site who simply believed their eyes and saw Dak as an average QB and bus driver who was never worth anywhere near the elite money he was holding out for. And now it seems that professional talent evaluators agree that he is not close to elite. But there’s always a winner like you shrieking about Dak Haters whenever someone just tells the truth that everybody else seems to be able to see about Dak.
