Someone who understands what replacement level player actually means. And who are you by the way?
someone with a better ratio. and ty craw is the definition of a replacement level player. he is a rotational depth guy at best anywhere else in the league.

1000% but what excites me the flexibility his signing brings to DL.........guess you can all it more hybrid.
And I hear he will be running a hybrid 4-3.. He is used to 3-4. No telling what we are gonna see but what excites me is that the opposing offense has no idea what they will see.

Meh, signing, what Griffin are we getting. he 32 and we are hoping he's what he was in Minnesota, we're hoping McCoy is what he was in Tampa. Until I see it it's Meh.

For sure we aren't getting either guy at their peak, but we are likely getting 2/3rds of their peak performance for 1/3rd of their peak salary. And both guys have quality depth backing them up, especially Griffin.

I was posting here for a decade before likes were put in. I also know what bandwagon fallacy means too.

Since he's been injured who knows where he's at.

I think the 1 yr deal is a great way to add pass rush depth to your team without getting stuck paying top $ for top people. They will be out to prove they can still play in hopes of landing the long term deals so you get them at their best for a cheap cost. A couple of years ago it was Hardy, last year it was Quinn, this year it's Griffen, next year you go get another one!

And we are getting a comp 3rd or 4th for Quinn. We let Cole Beasley go for a comp 5th so we could sign a better player in Cobb, then got a comp 4th when Cobb left.

LOL. He was very good just last year. It's not like he was only good 5 years ago. He's been very good into his 30s.

And then let's look at the position he's going to play - RDE. On option is Tyrone Crawford, coming off injury, who isn't a very good DE to begin with. The other option at this point is Aldon Smith, who hasn't played a game in almost 5 years and is over 30 years. But apparently hoping he is what he was in San Fran half a decade ago is fine, but banking on Griffin being as good as he was just last year is a reach?

I am curious as to why you think our RDE spot was fine before Griffin.

Man, this guy has been to the Pro Bowl 4 of the last 5 years.

He runs a 4.46, 40 yarder at 273 lbs?

He will be 33 in December but we signed him to a 1 year deal for $6 million?

That front 4 we have looks pretty good and deep right now. Our front 7 is really something right now.

At the very very least, Griffen is a stud rotational player. W/ the others we have at the position, we should be able to keep him fresh enough for postseason and 4th qtrs.

Folks...theres absolutely NO reason to cut Crawford right now, unless they want to do him a favor.

They dont pay him weekly until the games start.

How do we know 4 DTs dont go down to injury or whatever else during camp?

I think he stinks and would prefer to move on regardless, but if they want him to be on the team at a lesser number, they are better off pushing into more of a corner time wise before they ask him to do that.

Simply, it doesnt benefit the team at ALL to cut him now. Take him to camp and see what happens.

Stinks? Not even close.

Overpaid? Way

Crawford is a very nice rotational player. If you're saying he stinks as a starter, I do agree w/ that.

BUT I WANTS IT NOW!!!

I don't get what that concept is hard for some fans, you don't lose anything by waiting. If he has dropped off and/or refuses a pay cut he is gone. If he can still play you either restructure him down to have a quality backup or you can do so and then trade him.

Yeah, we just got a major steal. He was only available because he was asking too much at first. We got lucky.

dropped off? his ceiling is rotational player. It's hard to wait when you wanted the guy gone the moment he signed his contract extension. Almost like waiting all those years to get rid of scandrick, church, heath, jason garrett, and rod marinelli.

Let’s see how a different staff evaluates Crawford.
It simply comes down to whether we have someone who can do what he does. He's a high quality backup/rotational type. I'm thinking w/ the signings and draftees, Craws is out.

The double hip surgery will be hard to come back and play at the same level..

take the money you are saving and just sign another guy with some possible upside if you need a depth piece. its a new staff and new system in place anyway.
