Guess I was lucky not to believe in that stuff. I laughed through most of Rosemary's Baby.
I don't want to go way off topic and sorry for doing so. I always enjoyed learning theology and philosophy and even if i didn't think it was true i still think it's worth learning. I know many people study philosophy, maybe i shouldn't of combined the two but since i try to learn both i mentioned both.

Back on topic

Horror movies i think need a special kick/flavor or something close to ones interest in order for them to have a effect. That's just me though, while growing up a good friend of mine loved horror movies and so i watched a few of them back in the day, thankfully so, a few of them were pretty good.

I was just remembering a really bad old horror movie earlier today. All I remember was a bunch of brains with spinal cords attached, and they were attacking people. It was really bad stop motion photography, IIRC....and I think it was in B&W.

"Fiend without a Face."

I like that one... It's so bad it's good.

I remember seeing it in the late 60's, back then the special effects weren't so dated.

I liked that Fiend without a Face ...but i do prefer the 1988 remake of the Blob over Steve McQueen's 1958 black and white format version of The Blob. (though i still like the opening music theme song) ...Just for updated, advanced CGI special effects. ....

I saw the Exorcist when I was way too young (I have older brothers). When I was an adult, I went to see it again when they re-released it in the theatre. I had to actually leave during the crucifix scene because it made me nauseous. I'm not a religious guy, it was just seeing a little girl in a scene like that. I don't think they would do something like that now.

Still to this very day, the Exorcist is still recognized by most movies critics and viewing movie audiences as the Scariest Horror movie of All time.
Even with all the latest CGI special effects, cinematography, special make up designs, there still isnt' a movie that can really compare to it,
and that's not just here in the USA, but all over the film world.

But what is about that movie that is still gives it's reign? its' creepy, chilling macabre that no 21 century film studio can come close to it ?

is it the religious surface ? everyone's inner faith of belief between the highest of good and the darkest of evil? maybe its
the dim light and always it's in- the- corner darkness, and set up of the film,.. the creepy look of the bedroom, Regan's formation from a sweet lovable face to a hideous monster-demonic look,.. the turning of the head, pea-soup vomit, the taboo self mutilation of the crucifix to her genital area, the creepy backwards spider-walking down the stairs that was completely edited out of the original movie, that millions did not even know that film shot existed until they saw the directors' cut on DVD after all these years.

There was a giant ant movie that was different movie from "Food of the Gods".

I'm too lazy to look up the title, but Joan Collins was is in it.

yep Food of the Gods, .. giant rats, and giant wasps.another one i liked.
.I thought that film was creepy back in the day..and it was awhile before i drank Cow's milk again as a kid.
Only Oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, Egg Waffles or fried egg sandwiches instead of cold cereal .. lol

Another creature feature that was ever creepy-entertaining back in the day was "Kingdom of the Spiders ". with Williams Shafter starring.

The Happening. I told myself that was my final straw with M. Night Shyamalan but no. He decide to tackle The Last Airbender, the best American style anime series ever made in my opinion.

So, my wife and I caught it at the theater. Why? Who knows? The only thing I know for certain is that I want to kill Shyamalan.

I've seen most of the horror sections in Netflix and Hulu. Even the really bad ones...something about the simplicity of them puts me at ease for whatever reason. I need a visual (only way I remember what I've seen on there) but think I've seen a lot of that list if released in the 80s and on.

That Walrus movie on Netlfix made by Kevin Smith is probably the worst I've seen in a minute, well that and 14 rooms (the sequel to almost as bad, 13 rooms lol)

Kind of wrong thread, but I recommend Terrifier on Netlfix. (yes, that clown one :D)

I was young at the time but knew Richard Burton's acting legend even then. "This sequel will be epic!"

At least that was what I told myself. Then I watched Exorcist II: The Heretic and felt sorry for Burton.

I never would have remembered that title. Sounds like a Star Trek episode.
