think they are hopeful we trade for him..

i'm not interested in trading a high pick anymore for Earl Thomas, and definitely not that Ravens contract .
Age and injury history was already a factor.
Another was hearing about his penchant for free lancing in Ravens scheme which causes assignment issues.
And these in-house clashes with teammates is also not sitting well me either.

and the guy that worked to groom him and likely vouched to acquire him..is no longer part of our defense. (Richard)
However he is still a better player than Ha Ha Clinton Dix.

Should Ravens cut him, only a one or two year Cowboys Poe/Griffen like friendly deal could be made to get him here ?

I don't believe you can double dip and it's unlikely the Ravens get out of not paying him the guaranteed money. So anything next team gives him would subtract from what the Ravens owe him.

His base salary for 2020 is $10M and should Dallas trade for him they would not be on the hook for any signing bonus money. The only thing they would give up is a draft pick or two in terms of compensation should he be acquired and not work out for the team.

An option, although I doubt Baltimore would accept it or given the DT depth chart Dallas would do it, is to trade DT/DE Tyrone Crawford and a 4th round pick for Earl Thomas (if the Ravens would even accept that offer). The money difference would only be $2M more to bring in Thomas as Crawford's base versus dead money would free up about $8M for Dallas.

Make the trade and sign Snacks Harrison to a minimal contract.

That said, he clearly has had issues between his domestic dispute with his wife and now fighting with a teammate. The Leadership Council for the Ravens want him off the team so should he come to Dallas how long would he last?

Snacks does not play 3T, he's a less mobile Poe at NT. Giving a high pick shouldn't even be required. Ravens are in a jam, they would be begging someone to save them some salary cap.

The dead cap money for ET is listed at 25 Million but if they have contract clauses that void his salary guarantees I think their hit could be as little as 5 Million to cut him. There would be 15 Million in bonus money that hit but his salaries are 10MM this year and 11MM next year. There is an outclause after 2021 so the fine print of the contract would really determine what their cap hit would be.

If ET was cut and came here on a smaller incentive based contract I would be all over it, but his play is declining and the team doesn't need him as much as he needs a new team.

Which is why no one ever makes those trades. The team holding the contract is behind the 8 ball and everyone knows the player will be released eventually, so they don't give up draft picks. They just start back channel talks with the agent knowing he will be cut soon.

while this is true, I remember a team actually giving another team a draft pick just to take the contract off their hands. In fact, if I remember correctly, they even paid half his salary also. Can't remember the team or player but it did happen.

Sure, there are examples like Robert Quinn. Dallas gave up a late pick in the 6th while Quinn agreed to restructured contract for slightly less money. Miami saved something like 5 Million against the cap but got the future years off the books.

It does happen occasionally but Quinn was a long complicated process. For situations like ET the outcome 9 times out of 10 is the other teams just wait it out and the player gets cut.

earl

Being sent home sucks I can’t take the reps I need to keep momentum going .. but I can reflect on things and keep working my plan to help the team win...

This has been one of of my best camps crazy a situation like this can through dirt on it..
Here is the clip that started the fight ..

A mental error on my part .. A Busted coverage that I tried to explain calmly meet with built up aggression turned into me getting into with a teammate ..

Since we didn’t keep it in house and I’m getting text and calls from ESPN reporters etc : thought I’d try and clear the air .. situations like this narrow my window for error but this the path I choose..

Don't want this emo putting a cheap shot on lambo because he gets beat. He's the ravens problem now.

I can't lie...I wish Dallas had made a serious run at ET. They haven't had his kinda fire or attitude on defense in decades. The whole tenor of the team would be different with him in the locker room.

Oh well...I'm sure this will blow over as just another camp altercation. The Ravens are loaded and should be tough to beat (as usual).

I haven't watch him in Baltimore. Has he been worth money so far?

I like it. I don't think the Dallas defense is mean enough on the field. Dallas could use some Earl's scrappiness.

His side of the story. Where he tries to keep that $10 million.

It's nearly impossible for nfl teams to get guaranteed money back. Patriots somehow got Antonio Brown to settle for 5 million instead of the 9 million he was slated to get. Don't see common fights in practice being a way out for the Ravens.

Just say no to a trade for Earl, heard on radio that some of the players do not want him on the team. So why trade if they cut him. Heard on maddog that alot of players and I mean high ranking players do not want him back.

It would be a serious fight. No doubt.
