While I'm not over here rocking pom-poms cheering for Dallas to go get him, I also wouldn't be mad if they snagged him. Definitely would be an intriguing and unexpected addition to the defense.

I could see the Raiders taking a flyer on him. I'd be surprised quite frankly if Jerry/Stephen pull the trigger on ET.
Me too...I just dont see Al Harris and others wanting this. MM woudl have to be ok with this.

Punching the teammate isn’t great and I don’t like it at all but that happens unfortunately a lot more than some think. Doesn’t make it ok but that story was released and made publicly because it probably was the cherry on top of other things.

like missed meetings, not being on same page as coaches and chemistry issues etc.....those are the real things that cause concern for me- way more than the punching. That’s why trading for him was never a good option, sign him put him on an incentive laden deal and hope him being home and presumably where he always wanted to be fixes a lot of issues.

the fight story was strategically released and made public.

I am hopeful they've learned their lesson about signing Crazy acting players. Aldon Smith is this year's "risk" player IMO.

If I were a GM, I would want to know a whole lot more about this guy. BAL is choosing to get rid of him as opposed to Clark, the player he had the altercation with and they just got Clinton-Dix at the behest of McC and are high on Woods, do they need him? Is he worth the trouble?

They just might though. I'm a bit torn with ET. On one hand, he'd be a nice addition to our safety position and could fix that position. On the other hand, he seems like a total headcase. Id trust McCarthy more than Garrett with him as I think McCarthy is able to handle him. I think we may be able to get a good deal on him, and let's see if he still wants to play for us.

Umm, Thomas is pretty special and Haley had similar conduct issues with players and coaches on the 49ers.
yes and no. Special in the sense if his head is right, he can be a difference maker. The no part is, when will he crash and burn? Will he be a ME guy? Do you expect him to change his spots just because he is wearing the star? Its expecting too much I think.

Believe it or not. Sometimes you need a awesome person to win.
Or several of them but I've never wanted him after that stunt he pulled going up to Garrett after that game. At least Ray Lewis used other players to deliver his message.

They have a mixed bag of results with aholes. Owens and Sanders worked out OK but Hardy, Pacman and Gregory did not. Smith is still a ?

Never believe the media much when they link a player to the Cowboys but Schefter is a solid source considering he’s not just lumping the Cowboys with other teams.

I like Thomas but the last couple seasons, he has been far from a model employee. Something feels odd.

At least we won't be giving up a pick for him. If he is disgruntled here, we can probably have the contract short enough to end it.

At the end of the day, they have decide how much embarrassment risk they are willing to take on. Aldon Smith is a risk already. I am sure Baltimore is pretty embarrassed signing Earl to that contract and letting him go after a year (and eating all that money), the fight, the whole wife gun story, all that. Something is wrong with ET, no doubt...

I think we won the lottery in this year Charles Haley types deals. We LANDED Aldon Smith...a guy who can wreck an offense. PLUS another cat with the same skillset that can also stop the run. So essentially, we are stacked. Not sure we need ET honestly. Our front 7 is really good.

I wouldn't worry about McC as much as the Joneses, Booger has a way of getting involved with the aholes.

This. Something is off with ET. Proceed with high caution. We might be better off with what we have
