Green Bay and seattle seem like teams that were good last year and will be better this year.

I think atlanta and chicago have a real chance to be bounce back teams this year too.

Teams like Arizona and Minnesota feel like with a few breaks there way they could be very good also.

Just feels like Dallas has a long way to go before they are in that mix again. Last summer all we heard was this is the most talented team and many said the coaching would be vastly improved since linehan was gone and kris richard had more input on the defense. Feels like all the same people are declaring how great this team is again for all the same reasons.

Coaching matters. Not to mention special teams, hopefully will be better than what was awful last year.

Dallas is not far from the top of the NFC, and they Now have a competent HC who can lead them. A different Kicker early in the year was the difference in at least 2 or 3 games as well. They ould be better than GB, CHI and ARI and right up under SEA, NO and SAN

Most of the guys downing Thomas are the guys that defended heath. Lol

this defense and secondary needs a little edge and anger. I hope he fights them all into shape.
Next time Jaylon smith dances around like a fool one play before he gets burnt for a td I hope Thomas knocks him out.

LOL! IKR? Smith and his swipe after making a tackle 10 yards down the field.... He never lost a fan quicker than me doing that garbage. I sometimes think ET is just putting on a act to get to big D...we'll see..

I don’t know if Dallas signs ET or not... but if they do, it will be Haha that will come off the field, not Woods.

Haha is just a stopgap player who had had multiple chances to stick in Green Bay, Washington, and Chicago, and simply couldn’t do it. Woods is a much better player than Dix.

And McCarthy might have brought him in on the cheap but he also traded him mid season for a third round pick, where Haha promptly played like crap for Washington. I was laughing at the Skins for giving a 3rd for one half a season of bad safety play.

Woods is thought of pretty highly in Dallas.

Most people have Dallas as one of the 5 best NFC teams.

It’s not just a Cowboy fan thing.

How many people would’ve had the 49ers ranked high last year?

Anything can happen.. We see this lesson taught all the time but we still don’t learn.

Dallas could be terrible but their roster is legit.

people have talked up the niners for two years, they could just not keep the qb healthy.

they won't be terrible but the same thing is being said as last year, nearly identical and the defense is changing schemes but doesn't really seem any better on paper to me. Griffen is a better player than quinn and crawford being healthy for 16 games hopefully should help. They lost their top player in the secondary in Jones.

I guess I just don't see all the hoopla about the defense and I think their is a legitimate concern with the offensive line at the moment due to some uncertainty. A preseason would have been really useful for this team this year.

this defense is going to be tested with atlanta, seattle and cleveland right off the bat in the first four weeks. No idea what the rams will be but those other three teams are going to score points.

ET is a huge upgrade to HH and it is not in question but with that said, ET gets hurt a lot so it would also be nice to have a guy like HH available instead of Heath should ET go down. If ET can be done at the right deal, just do it and see how it plays out. He wants to be in Dallas, let it happen and go with it. The guy could be a monster windfall. I'm not 100% worried about the headcase stuff if it is the right situation.

again though this is what was said last year, Linehan gone and richard taking a bigger role.

The punting unit needs to be better, they somehow have to get some return yardage out of lamb this year because the last few years have just been nothing but fair catches.

No idea if zuerlein will be better I hope he is but that is a wait and see.

Some folks on this board see "Earl Thomas" and think it's 2013. He's nowhere near the player he was in his prime.

They kept Chuck Clark and cut Thomas. Obviously they were looking for a way out of his contract and they're going to use this fight to try to void it.

As long as they give him a contract that they can get out of, I’m fine with bringing in Thomas. I assume that if they don’t, there is a reason they don’t want him in Dallas. Either way, I expect the team to talk it out as a franchise and do what’s best for the team.

McCarthy has been getting what he wants to build this team so I’d assume that whichever way Dallas goes here will be led by what McCarthy and Nolan want for their secondary.

We can only hope...and I am OK with however it goes pretty much. MM knows what kind of player ET is. He had to deal with him on multiple occasions in games that mattered unlike a lot of years for our team. haha

You'd have to be a true skeptic to argue with this off season.

Yeah, I’m good with either decision.

In terms of roster, I still worry about CB. And OC.

IF, and big IF you signed him ..........how much? one or two years?

Don't forget how much he's dreamed of playing for the Cowboys. Remember his Seahawk teammates saying how much of a Cowboy fan he was. Almost never missed the chance of watching our games. I'm thinking he and Stephen will wait and see what happens with his grievance. How much, if anything, Ravens are forced to pay his $10M. After this is settled, I think he signs a 2-3 team-friendly deal, basically saying he's ending his career as a Cowboy.

Actually, now that I think about, ET could be just what our DB room needs IF his head is in the right place AND he's willing to sign a TEAM-FRIENDLY MODEST deal. We could use his experience and leadership to mentor what's likely will be a rebuilt YOUNG unit next year.

My question is how good is Earl anymore? The Ravens weren't too thrilled with him last year and have been trying to get out of his contract since the incident with his brother.

If we sign him, Im skeptical he makes a difference
