Scale from 1-10 how excited are you for the season?

I need the perspective of others right now. I am struggling to get excited. I should be because the new coaching staff is a big shift. Good offseason with the draft and FAs. The Dak contract is a dark cloud but he is the QB right now so there is hope they can get something done. All that said I am not getting excited. Don’t know why exactly. Am I getting older and sports just doesn’t excite me as much? Am I too distracted with my family and all that is going on? Is the woke NFL crap getting to me? Is over 2 decades of futility getting to me? Is it because I think the season is not going to happen? Is it the empty stands?

I have been a fan for 40 years. I love football. I used to be clued in every day on camp news and excitement for the season. What the hell is wrong with me? I am a 3 out of 10 now. With McCarthy and Co I should be at an 8 or 9. WTH?

3. With the virus and everything going on in the world plus my mother passing away I am just not interested in sports this year.

Right now? 7. No preseason or much coverage.

Once we get our official roster/depth chart set and the first week of football running it’ll jump straight to 10.

Right now about a 4 or 5, everything is so disconnected that it’s hard to get too excited. It’s pretty sad and depressing that with all the BS going on in the world people still can’t find a way to come together. Once kickoff comes I will be at a 7 or 8 and not a 10 because in the back of my head I will wonder whether we will have a full season or not.

Football is an afterthought for me this year. And I’m unhappy with the direction the league has sent heading recently. Without fans in the seats and with players sitting out the season, I’m about as disinterested for a season as I’ve been in years. Maybe a 4 or a 5?

I am 48 but was part of the AOL forum and the Star Power form. Seems like decades have passed. Oh...they have.

Gonna say 5. The changes (oh thank God1) plus emergence of so many players has gotten me more interested. I have many of the same feelings as the OP plus I have intentionally tried to keep expectations for a season low so that i wouldn't be disappointed if Covid wins. We decided not to have our FF league also. After I watch the scrimmage sunday, my number could change significantly. Either direction.
