Im not gonna overlook Irvin for being an unabashed Cowboys homer, and then slam Rice for it

In the trenches...,here it counts for a young QB...he had THREE #1 picks on the o-line. a #1 (#4 overall) RB who become the NFL leading rusher. Would have done it AT LEAST 3 of the 4 years if not for GODells' war on Jerry.

If you these guys aren;t weapon and had nothing to do with Dak's success, then you are kidding yourself. But not me.

Notice I said Dak was successful? You might have missed that in the penchant to argue.

I'm glad we agree on TIMELY runs when it's there...to keep them honest.
oh, no doubt, weapons have to do everything with every great QBs success. no QB can make average great. its what they do when they have the weapons at their disposal. Brees has had some good recieving groups, good RBs, great OLs, and great coaching mind offensively. Brady has had some great receivers, on and on and on. if they have the weapons and they don't do well, then they suck. but if you give them weapons and they produce, then that's what's expected of the good ones. I am not saying Dak is Brady or Brees. but he is a good top echelon QB, there is no denying that.

Dak had as much to do with their success as the other way around. same with any QB, WR combo. and Dak was handicapped by a simple scheme, predictable play calling and questionable head coach. the question is what could he have done if Sean Payton was his coach, or Bilicheck? what would brees and brady have done if garrett was their head coach?

Yeah I mean to me that's what they are suppose to do. Nothing wrong with it IMO.
And I love Irvin for it. Nice to see a commenter show his fandom. I dont know much of Rices personality as a media figure, but if he is that guy for the 49ers I cant think of anyone better.

Sidenote: Dont know if you have seen this, but this some classic stuff

I think the boomers don't like them because they aren't the typical drop back passers.

This is some of the best young quarterback talent I've seen in a long time. There was a time when Carson Palmer and Donovan McNabb were considered the best quarterbacks in the league. Vick as well. Lamar is what we thought Vick's ceiling was.
Fyi, I'm a boomer. Class of 1946. But i still have great eyesight. A winner is a winner. All the qb's i mentioned are winners.

Zach martin is about it. and the guard doesnt impact the game like a qb does.

lmao! What did you just say? I would love to see Dak play without a guard. Lay off the whiskey, dog! Dak is not Superman!
(i heard it all now)

I mean obviously no qb could play with a missing guard lol. I'm saying a hall of fame guard doesn't impact the game as much as some other positions. This is obvious I'm sorry it hurt your feelings.

It doesn’t erase the fact that Cooper sucked when he got here. The Cowboys took a huge risk trading for him and no one else offered a first but the Cowboys.

And you tell me if Dak is making guys better. Randall Cobb sucked prior to coming here and has his best season in years despite being a number 3. He also wanted to come here to play with Dak.

Cooper sucked in Oakland prior to coming to Dallas..comes to Dallas and is one of the best receivers in the league on arrival.

Michae Gallup was a 3rd round pick....turned in 1k yard season.

They fired Garrett and the receivers coach.

You tell me what Dak is doing.......

I never said other teams didn’t overrate their talent. I think every team and fans think they have talent....doesn’t mean they are correct.

Cooper was a 1,000+ yard receiver in back to back seasons during 2015 and 2016. This was reflected in him making the pro bowl in both of those years.

2017 was a tough year for the Raiders all round. Derek Carr was on top of his game in 2016 but he struggled in 2017 following a serious leg injury. Coaching got stale and it all fell apart for them hence why JG was brought in. So yes Cooper struggled too in that set up but to claim that Cooper sucked in Oakland is absolute nonsense.

Randall Cobb didn't suck before he came to the Cowboys. He struggled with hamstrings and other niggles in Green Bay a few years before he joined the Cowboys and really we got lucky that he played most of the season. A BIG factor as well that isn't mentioned in your post is that neither Green Bay or the Raiders had any sort of running game compared with the Cowboys having Elliott. It's a lot easier to look like Jerry Rice if you have one of the best running games in your offense as well. There is no comparison.

Cooper was a Pro Bowl WR in Oakland top 5 pick, and very young. He's still only like 25 or 26.

His problem, as we've seen here, is he gets sulky.

Dak just provided a high floor at the QB position. Please don't tell me you think he's out there making guys better? lol

You want to take a go at Cowboys fans for overrating their talent, when everyone outside of Dallas does it, then tell me it's Dak elevating them because Brandon Weeden sucked.. Please.
That is the sad truth. People think that if Prescott doesn't play then ANY other veteran QB would look like Weeden or Cassel! It's hilarious. Taking Prescott completely out of the conversation, for people to even be of the view that Andy Dalton would be like Weedon or Cassel at this stages of their careers at the Cowboys is just beyond belief.

....when I say he sucked in Oakland I'm referring to his most recent season there. He was great his rookie year and sophomore year. Then he took a nosedive. He struggled in 2017 and was struggling in 2018 until he got to Dallas.

And yes, Randall Cobb sucked. You are making excuses for why these guys struggled but the fact remains they STRUGGLED prior to coming here. You can come up with what ever excuse you want for why they sucked but it doesn't erase the fact that they sucked and their prior teams didn't want them anymore because of it.

And Cobb and Cooper didn't play well because of Zeke. THat's a will theory you have there. If you want to say Dak's job is easier because of Zeke then that's fair.

You guys always manage to bring up Andy Dalton's name and talking about what he can do yet no one in the league thought that and he signed to be a backup for 2 million.

What do expect from someone who had alligator arms on deep crossing routes....on the rare occasion that he ran one....not to mention somehow escaping getting charged on physically assaulting a woman....oh, and he has the head the size of a pea....his cap size is that of a six year old. There, is that good?

The point about Elliott is that Green Bay's rushing options were some fat waste of space more interested in eating pizzi's than running or James Starks who was like a role player every now and again and not a pure ground and pound runner. The Raiders had a 400 year old Marshawn Lynch in 2017. You know the point i'm making that having a very strong running game makes life much easier for the receivers.

Andy Dalton is the backup QB. I really hope that relaxes you a little. Maybe...
