I thought the idea of giving up a 2nd round pick for a guy that's never had a 1,000 yard season in his career was just ridiculous. I was shocked when I read that, especially with it being New England.
I agree.
Where the Pats always pick its as much an early 3rd as it is a very late 2nd, but even that seemed too high. But this year, that pick was a bit earlier (55th).
Raven took JK Dobbin there. WRs Van Jefferson and Denzel Mims went right after.

Well let's be honest here. No one is confusing Fournette with Zeke. They aren't even on the same planet. You guys have to quit complaining about Zeke...he counts 5% of our cap. Mind you this team has spent money on Greg Hardy, Cedric Thornton, Nolan Carroll, among other trash.

Logic does not fit the Zeke haters narrative or agenda. It is like talking to a brick wall of a small structure used for waste management.

I know this wasn't for me and I agree that Zeke is better.

But if you look at their rushing/receiving stats (1770 vs 1670 but 1 less game) and yards per touch (5.0 vs 4.9) from last year, they are extremely close comps.
Zeke plays with a much better support cast.
But yeah, he IS better.

That proves nothing about Zeke being overpaid.
Zeke makes this offense go, Fournette did not do that in JAX.

Wanna hear something funny.......a beat writer tweeted that a coach compared Fournette to former Giants RB Leroy Hoard who once said to his coach.......if you need 1 yard I'll get ya 3, if you need 5 yards, I'll get ya 3.:lmao:

Reminds me of Walt Garrison.
If you need 3 yards I will give you 3 yards. If you need 5 yards, I will give you 3 yards.

However,
If you needed that 5 years he would get you that for real. One of my all-time favorite players.
He would be on a top 10 list of a guy to sit and have a beer with.

yup yards are not everything LF doesnt score a lot of Tds, cant catch ours of the backfield and for sure isnt a bonified 3 down back who stays healthy and can be factor in the pass game...

the hate is think, Fournetts not zeke hed be better in a rotation like SF used so his snaps are limited, zeke doent need that, Fans dont get it clueless..

how many TDs? How many snaps did he give Jacsonville, blocking , receiving and running? Zeke leads the nfl in that category as well as scrimmage yards..no comparison,. i think Tampa's getting a solid back cheap but hes best in a rotation where he gets under 250 snaps and not in on a lot of pother snaps..

you cant hep your team from the bench..zekes nearly never on the sideline hes in for the largest percentage of offensive snaps by any RB in the league.. thats why they paid him..durable and productive in runs, blocking and pass game

I'm not saying they don't have comparable stats. But Fournette did not have a quarterback throw for 5k yards. Its the same argument people user McCaffery...now granted, McCaffery may actually be the best running back in the league but his stats get a boost from being the only option there aside from DJ Moore. The Cowboys could easily give Zeke most of the carries and make him a receiving threat. Stats aren't telling the whole story here.

Dude Rocy... Zeke had more touches than Fournette last season man. There is no stat boost for having a worse offense around you dude.

This is a bad defense my man.

My post was in response to him saying (1770 vs 1670 but 1 less game) and yards per touch (5.0 vs 4.9).....and yes there is. Jaguars were not playing meaningful football last season. You can argue the Cowboys didn't either but they at least thought they were in the hunt until week 16.

Its crazy because you guys will say Garrett sucks but blame the players for their stats or lack there of. It really makes no sense to me.

I'm not here even debating whether or not Zeke is better than Fournette.
I think he is.
TDs vary wildly year to year (just look at Zeke 2018 vs 2019) but are hugely dependent on the offense in general.
Zeke was way better in 2109 in that area. Other than that, they were very close. I also suspect (don't know for sure) that Zeke is better at pass protection.

Still, in 2019

Touches? very close. Fournette slightly more balance. Not saying that is better or worse
  • Zeke 355 (300 rush, 54 receiving)
  • Fournette 341 (265 rush, 76 receiving)

Total yards? very close. Zeke (played 1 more game)
  • Zeke 1777
  • Fournette 1674

Yards per touch? very close. About the same when they get the ball
  • Zeke 5.0
  • Fournette 4.9
Yards per Game? Almost identical
  • Zeke 111.1
  • Fournette 111.6

Yards after contact? both had a lot. Fournette had more
  • Zeke 679
  • Fournette 792
Yards after contact per attempt? Fournette had more
  • Zeke 2.3
  • Fournette 3.0

Total TDs? Zeke by far. Dallas had a way better offense.
  • Zeke 14
  • Fournette 3
Again, I shouldn't have to say this, but some will start whining if I don't (how dare we show numbers of non-Cowboy players...lol);
I AM NOT arguing for Fournette at all. Just showing the facts for both players.

But your post was using the defense of their stats were so close because there was nobody else around Fournette and McCaffrey to siphone off production.... yet Zeke had more touches than Fournette so it isn't a good defense.

Garrett was literally a dream come true for RB stats. He has fed Zeke through four seasons more than ANY RB IN NFL HISTORY, and would run Zeke's numbers up to the determent of team success. I blame Garrett for plenty of issues.

What is blatantly obvious though is that Zeke is just one drop in a huge bucket of solid RBs.

And Fournette at $3.5M >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Eze at $15M

That's not obvious to me QC.

Let's just say that I like Zeke more than you do.
That's fine

I will agree that if Fournette doesn't cause locker room headaches, he's a great value at 3.5 mil

Good stuff, and I don't think there's an argument for which is actually better, I think the argument is about which is the better value.

and knowing this his contract was cheap yet Jags let him go and 31 teams past on him on waivers..ironic one team grabs him while eating a sandwich , no rush no frenzy..

zeke cut today 15 teams go after him on waiver wire offering high picks 2nd maybe a 3rd at worse, bet my lunch thats fact..

LF had solid year last year no doubt yet his own team doesnt keep him with one last pretty cheap contract and 31 years didnt offer a 7th to go grab him up off waivers?

odd ,isnt it..first 3 years in the league zekes crushes LF just from scoring , overall yards , scoring titles etc etc I think LF injury history and lack of scoring tds got him cut, possible attitude etc who knows but zeke would not have cleared waivers, that i know..
