Meh, he won a Super Bowl protecting Mahomes blind side, it’s up to the coaches to adapt to his deficiencies. Garrett will have to do it with an entire O line this year and it will be evident how bad they are in their first game vs Pitt.

Does any team not have a liability when putting in their backup OT? Thats when coaching is supposed to come into play. Not necessarily the coaching of that backup player. Things like play calling and personnel grouping come into play. Garrett wouldn't change anything in that situation. He would just leave the player on an island and let him give up 6 sacks and ruin the game. A good coach would run more plays away from that side and put a TE or another OL out there at TE to help.

Lmao you’ll be hard pressed to find any analyst who says Cam Erving is good. Somehow he always has a job and plays though so it is what it is. I also think Knight will play, personally I think they’re being coy with the depth chart.

Maybe its my computer when I click on BR link everything is disjointed and looks to be formatted by an 8 year old. Last part of the "article" makes no sense.

We'll know Sunday night how much of a liability he is. I'm not concerned, I don't buy the rumor.

While you don't need an All-Pro at every position to be able to win in the NFL, if the guy is struggling either:
  1. Give him help
  2. Bench him
They cannot allow another Atlanta Green vs Clayborn disaster. I try not to get upset about sports, but that game STILL pisses me off.
"Hey, let's let a guy who can barely get 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in a season get those 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in a GAME."

Erving was easily the most puzzling free agent acquisition this offseason, and we had quite a few of those.
Why would signing a guy as a back up OT who started 8 games for last year's SB Champion be all that puzzling?

Swing tackles are usually one of two things guys that haven't shown much but being a reliable back up or a former starter in the twilight of his career that does not want to hang it up

I remember David Irving being ejected along with an offensive lineman in 2016. I just remember it being against the packers, not Cleveland.

irving at RT, looney calling protections and Williams coming off major knee surgery blocking Aaron Donald?
That’s going to have to be one hell of a coaching job.
