It’s wreckless and insensitive....our young mellenial generation is in the worst spot mentally of any generation since the end of ww1....I’m not trying to coddle them but this type of insensitive perspective doesn’t help.

It’s disappointing, classless and frankly stupid

Stephen A. Smith is a sociopath and incapable of empathy. His sole care in this world is himself and whatever helps his brand. I sincerely don't think he ever feels remorse. Given the current climate, I'd can his *** immediately.

I think a suspension is warranted.
How could they suspend him when the entire segment was scripted ahead of time? He probably didn’t even write all of those comments himself

Fox should have called themselves out for, at best, being asleep at the wheel when the production team wrote the segment, and at worst, for their complicity in fabricating this entire controversy to generate fake reactions.

I have never watched the TV garbage Skip has been peddling for years. The best way to handle this is to see his ratings tank. I can’t believe anyone watches that sorry excuse for sports entertainment. If people would stop watching that provocative click bait crap we could finally see it disappear. It’s like a sports gossip column...and that comparison is not fair to gossip.

check out this article, does a pretty good job of bringing a lot of points to bear. https://thriveglobal.com/stories/millennial-depression-why-are-millennials-depressed/

basically, less opportunity for success , major financial insecurity, debt challenges, etc all coupled with the social situations and job market is driving a lot more depression in the generation compared to historical numbers.

there are many other great articles out there that look at it from different angles but the availability of data and more of an In tune perspective on feelings due to the breakdown of prior social norms is causing a perfect storm for depression in very young adults.

But back to the original point, this guy was wreckless and dumb to make that comment when we have so many in a generation now they are really struggling

He deserves cancellation for that. Skip knew what he was doing. Skip said before he went on his embarrassing tirade that he wasn't one to speak on this subject and if that's true then he just should have kept that opinion to himself.

Huge props to Shannon today for conducting himself with professionalism and handling that as cool as he did.
I agree, at this point I feel he should be fired. I'm a trauma therapist and I deal with victims of abuse and people who have had major traumas in their lives. Suicide and loss of a parent are traumas that people suffer horrendous grief with. Dak has had to deal with both now. For Dak to come out and say what he said was courageous and strong. It shows he's a man that will own his feelings and be vulnerable. This is why he is respected. For Skip to even bring football matters into that conversation shows how shallow, weak and ignorant he is.

Do the world a favor and fire him Fox. Also much respect to Fox for at least doing something but I feel he needs to go. Please take the next step and fire him.

The fact that an incensed public finds his actions deplorable speaks for itself and should resonate loudly within the organization of Fox Sports. Whether Skip's actions deserve some degree of punitive measures will, of course, be decided by their executives. For one, I'm inclined to be strongly in favor of it.

Please make the sports world a better and more enjoyable world by taking Skip Bayless off TV. He and Stephen A Smith have been the scum of sports journalism for way too long. If we can at least take the platform away from one of them to no longer spew their hate and idiocy then it would help make up for the disaster that has been the year 2020.

Did I miss something? What the heck does SAS have to do with this situation or this thread?

Doesn't matter. Those comments came out of his mouth. Meaning, he agreed.
I think you might have misunderstood my point.

Why would you expect the people who knew what he was going to say, no doubt coached him on how to say it, and then choice to air it as scripted, to then come back and suspend him for it?

That’s like suggesting that Pablo Escobar should be expected to pass judgement on one of his cartel assassins for executing a hit he, himself, ordered.

Skip is a scumbag and his commentary was contemptible. I’d love to see him off the air but the outrage people have about this, particularly in demanding that Fox take action against him, is more than a little bit naive
