i dont believe that for a minute..they will jump all over him when he does but they want the DC to win period..
I believe it. Remember last year when we started 3-0? We didn’t hear a peep out of them good or bad. They were pissed we won because it ruined their agenda. As soon as things started going downhill they crawled out from under their rocks with their garbage gloating.

.....I'd call NYG and see if they have a position for you, next to Garrett. ;)...

What the heck took you so long?

Anyways, isn’t that great? Duane Thomas certainly was a man of few words that were carefully chosen.

LOL!!!! yeah. I think it took me awhile to notice the young pic of Tom. As far as Hollywood, I still use one of his quotes to this day. At work, when someone asks me why I am wearing sunglasses inside. When you're cool, the sun is always shinin'.

New coaching staff, severely limited offseason, no preseason to knock the rust off, OL weakened and who knows what our defense is. I can easily see this game going bad and would regardless of opponent.

week 1 is basically preseason for a lot of teams this year, the Rams have the advantages of at least some continuity

I thought I’d put this out there to use as an archive of sorts when people start calling for everyone to be fired or cut/traded Sunday night.

IF the game doesn’t go our way and it looks like a repeat of Chiefs/Texans will you say McCarthy was a drastic mistake or they should let Dalton start?

I think this is an outside possibility based off two factors:

1) Offense could struggle without Collins/Frederick and who knows how good Cooper’s health actually is.

2) Defense WILL have confusion against some of McVays schemes and doing more elaborate blitzes that leave vulnerable spots in the secondary. It’s going to take half the year to get it shored up since the team was so basic for last 7 years defensively since Rob Ryan left.

I’m on record that no matter what happens this year McCarthy and staff should not be held accountable for on field performance as long as team is improving throughout the year. This is not Madden and unless the Eagles health is totally diminished it’s going to be very hard to take the East from them this year.

You can’t plug in 4 new starters on offense, 5 on defense and new schemes and expect it to be a finished unit day 1. Goff, Ryan and Wilson are not the 3 QBs you’d want to see out of the gate

As long as they beat teams like Giants and the Football Team soundly who are in the same position, and show the ability to make adjustments throughout the year as they learn what doesn’t work, it’ll be fine for me.

That said I expect a close loss on Sunday but wouldn’t be shocked by anything either direction. Unless the defense pitches a shutout and has 3 picks.

I think it would put alot of pressure on them to win next two weeks against Falcons & Seahawks. The national discussion would start again about how they can't beat good teams. It would probably quiet down Dak contract talks in media considerable. I said few months ago that Moore doesn't have long leash and this would probably start more conversations about MM calling plays. This is big year for Cowboys, as I don't see any real grey areas. This either works really well or I think major changes are coming.

Bigger question is how will you react if we win 31-14?
Super Bowl bound and MM is the best coach ever even though JG beat a better team with a worse roster last year by over 21 points.

If we lose, the Rams are “always” tough to beat and it takes time for a new HC

Just one game, but I'd for sure be surprised and disappointed.

2014 started ugly as well, and then they went on a huge roll.

How so? they have a new DC, as do we, and have many more missing pieces to replace on their defense including all of their starting LB’ers, a starting corner, and a key nickel back. Amongst that group are their top two leading tacklers.

We have almost the all the same personnel on offense, with the addition of Jarwin and Lamb, and the same OC calling plays. They have the same HC calling plays, practically the same O line which was one of the worst in pass blocking last year, and no Gurley.

If we lose, it won’t be because we have more disadvantage than they do, it’s quite the opposite.

Fine with me

the 2014 team was probably the best team we’ve had in recent memory and they got their butts handed to them week 1

I wouldn’t be surprised. Our secondary is depleted. Our DL hasn’t played together yet. Our OL is depleted. And we’re still learning the new scheme. The Rams made the Super Bowl two years ago and have a lot more continuity on both sides of the football than we do.

I’d be furious. We dismantled them in December. We have a better team now. I’m not sure the Rams do. This is a game McCarthy should win. The thing I always liked about him in Green Bay is it never felt like they had the wrong game plan...even when Matt Flynn was the quarterback. Garrett had the wrong game plan 6 times a year it felt like.

Tittle: “What’s your favorite Christmas gift?”

Guaranteed response every time: “If Dak isn’t Superman, we should move on after this year”

Like, we get it dude, you want Dak out for no valid reason whatsoever and wrong thread btw!!!!

Some people feel he is negotiating like he is. Superman. So they expect him to be.

I'm in the camp with "it depends HOW we lost".

Having said that...it's the furthest thing from my mind. Can I at least enjoy the day before, the day of...and kickoff before I prepare for a loss?

Good now get the hell out of here.
Whoa whoa dude!

I think he'd still love to be a fan of Cowboys and football...but not one-sided social agendas.

Remember when we couldn't wear a tiny sticker for Dallas Police? This...is BS. I don't blame some people.

It's one game with no preseason and a new coaching staff on the road and out of the division. I won't be happy if we lose because I want to win every game, but you can't get worked up over one game in sports. Same goes for getting too high if we win 40-0 and look like a SB team. 16 games (hopefully) to be played. The bigger concern will be if certain players look totally overmatched or if we have a big injury
