You're comparing him to the best player in football. Whatever question you asked doesn't deserve an answer.

If you think Lawrence is anything less than a great player, you don't know what you're watching.
Yes I am comparing him because his salary is on par with his. Why the heck would Lawrence get paid almost as much as Donald? Because Jerry ad company thought he was as good or close. Clearly they were wrong. Lawrence in no way shape or form deserves his elite pay because he has not been elite since he got that unworthy contract.

He only had 1 tackle. Sorry, a guy who is getting paid $21 mil a year needs to produce more than that don't you think???

I do. But getting rid of him I have an issue with. Its not the solution. If you watched the game they game planned to get the ball out really really quickly in the passing game. With the run game they generally ran right up the middle as the DT's got blown up.

Lawrence got less money a year after Donald signed his extension, at a position that historically gets paid more. Apparently you don't understand how NFL contracts grow over time either.

OMG how does Nick Foles make more than Dan Marino?!?!?!?!!

The ball was out pretty quick most of the night, but in general, it's not what the Cowboys like to do.

That doesn't work for teams long term because eventually you'll get figured out and teams are going to actually make tackles. We've seen it with the Giants for YEARS and their offense is always garbage.

Ähm. Now we threwit quick most of the night ?
First you stated if we did that Donalds wouldnt have been such a factor.
Now you say we did throw it quick.

You see me confused. I cant follow your train of thoughts. Please explain.

Aaron Donald had 7 pressures and the Cowboys threw the ball 39 times.

MOST OF the time, he wasn't disruptive because the ball was MOST OF THE TIME out quick.

So you say most of the time he wasnt desruptive but overall he was ?

And if the Cowboys threw the ball in less than 2 seconds every play, we wouldn't be talking about how disruptive Donald is.

Can you quantify your meaning of "most of the time". For me that means 80% or more of the time. What means it for you ?

Most of the time would be 51%, but you can use whatever arbitrary number you want.

A DL is never disruptive most of the time. Donald is the most disruptive DL in football and is disruptive on maybe a quarter of passing plays. If the Cowboys held the ball on every throw, that number would go way up. They didn't. Dak's average time to throw last night was 2.82 seconds. There is not a defensive lineman in the history of the NFL who is going to get consistent pressures when the ball is out that quick, especially not when there are outliers on scrambling type plays that drive the number up.

Fans thing trades are just easy. Cowboys got good depth and should keep Dlaw. They got Aldon on the cheap so be happy about that.

They did announce Goff was averaging less than 3 yards per throw. So he was basically throwing quick out routes and bootlegs in the flats. It wasn’t like he was going 5 and 7 step drops.

Have you seen his contract? For the same reason why you want to trade him, other teams wont want him.

Bro he is getting Aaron Donald money. Take your emotion out of it. He isn’t worth anything close to that. He’s a 10-12 million a year player at best. That contract is toxic.
That’s what people don’t get. He’s getting paid to play like Donald. That was a poor contract. We way overpaid for an average player that was so selfish he put off surgery to hold the team hostage.

All you hear from the parrots is “Pay the man”. Well he got paid. Now what?

Dak did not look like a $40M QB yesterday. If Dak doesn’t play better you can win just as many games with Dalton, and I’m a Dak fan.

While he still has a little stock. He’s declining big time. Roll with the cheaper options for this year(who are equal if not better). Start Smith and Griffen and Gregory could be the 3rd rusher when he’s back, and let Anae get some time. Get rid of that horrid contract and get a premium 2nd round pick for him. Offer him to the browns for their 2nd thoughts?

Why do you think - if DLaw is really that bad - no one else will notice and will give up a premium pick for his contract?

I'm a Dak fan but I'm not going to claim that he is something he is not and a 40M QB he isn't, sorry - he isn't the guy you pay that kind of money. And no, simply stating well that's the market value doesn't make sense either, in any market there are tiers and Dak isn't in the 40M tier not even close.

Very well said. Teams with better QBs already have an advantage. The only thing that comes close to mitigating that is what the QB gets paid against the cap. Any good GM has to realize this.

Not sure if trading DLaw would be the best option right now. He's a solid DEnd. Although his sack numbers have dipped considerably you have to take into account he absorbs double teams throughout the whole game. He's serviceable in the run game.

Idk if anyone would take him now but after next season we can get rid of him and save some cap i believe.
