McVay running to get the time out. Clearly the clock past the end zone was at zero. Not just flipped zero, but was there long before (three running steps before the ref saw him) McVay got there.

So they announcers call in the former ref and he says, "normally they give the benefit of the doubt to the coach, but time out was called too late."

This league favors offense over defense because of ratings. They protect the QB as if they were antique China that would break under a hard stare. Receivers get the benefit - unless they are Dallas receivers - which drives offense.

Defense is the red headed step child of professional football.

I cannot begin to tell you how irritated I am that McVay got the time out.. That the league does not adhere to the rules. If you want to call hand fighting between a DB and WR a penalty in an arbitrary way, I guess the head coach can stroll overt and call a time out after the results of the next play.

That was clearly a penalty and was reversed by the refs for some reason.

Am I alone on this?
the late clock call and bs opi call we win this game easily.

Obvious penalty and it's bs to say they get the benefit of the doubt in those cases

It is the Back Judge's responsibility to keep track of the game clock. He is not in the photo but he should be positioned pretty darn close to the clock seen there.

Of course, he would be facing the clock at the other endzone. Basically, it is a case of 'not knowing' the clock beside him hit zero and not seeing the other clock hit zero. Oblivious and blind.

The NFL wants football back in L.A is a major way. They get a ton of calls in their favor and with them opening up their new stadium i didnt think it was gonna change.
I agree. Even though the Cowboys got away with a few things, the Rams were assisted by the refs. The NFL did not want to Rams to lose their opener in their brand spanking new $5-billion stadium.

Where as like most I agree that there should have been a delay of game called instead of saying a time out was called in time, but the offensive PI was the correct call. Gallup's arm was fully extended and that is offensive PI. Fans think the Cowboys got screwed on that call but completely forget or look past the fact that in the interception that Goff got hit to the head and normally that would draw a flag and the pick would have been nulified. The point is refs make mistakes.

I couldn’t care less about the missed calls. We got a crucial one in our favor as well. Those things happen every game to every team and should now be expected. Poor officiating and several bad calls against you a game is a built in part of the NFL now and should be expected. Good teams overcome whatever the officials do. If there was anything to be upset about it was that we were sold a BS story that the team and schemes would be totally different. So much so that they had to hide it all from the other teams. Turns out, they were hiding the fact that everything was exactly the same from us. You want to be upset? Be upset at that!

I hate that the Cowboys lost but the conspiracy theory that the refs secretly did what they could to make sure the rams won is just that a conspiracy theory which ranks up there with the 2nd gunman in the grassy knoll.

Biggest bunch of “poor me, we’re always the victim“ feeble minded fan base in the league. Yeah, this is just like every other crap call or non call that can hurt or help us...this one happened to hurt us. We also had plenty go in our favor.

Some of you are embarrassing. We had some calls or non calls or non calls go our way and others that didn’t, get over it and stop with the bs excuses.

It's only the fans who started and maintained the rumor that the schemes were going to be completely different. Early on when McCarthy kept Moore and then later announced that much of the old playbook would still be used should have silenced those rumors, but they persisted anyways. McCarthy said a lot of the verbiage would change but he did say most of the playbook would be used.

Refs have never been rigid with the playclock turning to 0.

Romo, of all people, got away with snapping at 0 a lot.

It was totally bogus.
He took maybe one step before the clock went to 0?

It happens every single game. The Cowboys have benefitted from it as well. The refs aren't perfect. It's impossible to watch both the snap of the ball and the clock. The answer is to not allow yourself into a situation where that will decide the game. It's Tuesday. Time to move on.
