DC talking heads on Cowboy's website seemed to be calling out Dak

Why a drop happens is often subjective. There are obviously clear bad drops (Drew Lock to Jerry Jeudy last night in the third quarter is about as clear as an example as you will see) and there are very difficult catches deemed to be drops because the receiver was not in the correct position or the throw was inaccurate. You also have to question why catches are dropped when it's the same QB and several different receivers. Is it on the QB or is in on all of the receivers? E.g. receivers might not have confidence in where the ball should be placed so they end up in the wrong position trying to give themselves a greater catch radius. Drops are not unconditional - there's often much more to it.
Heck, even the Defenders drop his Interceptions. He throws a putrid ball

Or maybe they know they have a driver that can only drive a bus and can't handle a sports car.

The play that has me the most upset (and I haven't gone back and watched anything since the game, so I could easily be missing something) was the sack on the first drive of the 2nd half. Dak has a receiver breaking WIDE open across the middle and doesn't throw it. Yes there was pressure coming in his face but he should have been able to get it out and take the hit. It also could have been picked (there was a safety in the general area). So he decides instead of throwing a pick (which would have put the Rams in the same general area of the punt) he is going to take the sack. Sack = lines fault, pick = my fault. Not saying that is completely his mindset, but his mindset is clearly to not take risks (thank you Garrett). Romo throws that pass, maybe it is complete, maybe it isn't, maybe it is picked...but he tries. Romo took chances and sometimes they worked other times they don't. Dak never takes chances and thus we get this same old cautious bus driving QB.
This team was 8-8 last year....I'd hardly call them a sports car. More like a 2016 Honda Accord.

It is, but then you fail to properly analyze the defense and basically blame the whole loss on Dak.

And if we really want to get critical, Dak drove them for the tying FG and winning score and both were bad calls taken from us.

Your assessment that the PI was definitely an offensive PI is also agenda driven and laughable. Either way, Dak did his job there.
If it wasn't OPI what was it? Agenda, the only agenda I see is more excuses from you.

Read what I Highlighted again, and tell me exactly why you are so HELL BENT on paying him.

What are you afraid of? Why do you believe what you stated can't be replaced?
I responded to another zoner who asked the same question but I will paraphrase. Dak has won those games before. Pittsburgh in 2016, the Eagles in 2018, the playoffs against the Seahawks. He can do it but last season put a bad taste in my mouth. He is a top 10 quarterback. Those guys don’t grow on trees.

Ok let me break it down.

1. The kicker missed a 29 yard field goal. 3 points.
2. The Rams didn't punt the football until the 3rd quarter.
3. Rams did not stop one bootleg or screen pass.
4. They had their way with us in the run game.
5. Robert Woods had his way with us in the 1st quarter alone.
6. They missed the call on Aldon Smith hitting Goff in the head. Potential points there.
7. They bled the clock. DOMINATED TOP. That was their goal. Keep their defense off the field and use their 3 running backs to dominate TOP and they did.
8. They played conservative the rest of the way because they had the lead. Had McCarthy went for the field goal they would've once again ran it down our throats and screened us to death to score even more points.

I guess I'll ask you....what did you see from this defense to think they couldn't put up 30 points?
the score board is all that counts, simple concept. Would of, should of don't count neither does your fantasy 30 points.

I think Dak is fine in the clutch. I know the numbers aren't showing that right now but I trust my evaluations more than I trust numbers.

My problem with Dak is how he plays as a QB. He's got his foot on the breaks for 95% of the game and I want to see him punch the gas.

I expect Atlanta to play like a more traditional team this week and Dak to have a big game on Sunday while all of the "pay Dak 40 million" guys rejoice. It really doesn't matter to me. Dallas should easily win this game and light up their defense.

Go do it against Seattle.
:laugh::lmao2::lmao:

Besides the FACT that they DIDN'T score 30 points!

This is like a lawyer asking "How do you you know he died?" Opposing lawyer: "Because there is a dead body."

I am not saying the defense played great by any means, and yes there was a missed FG (granted we missed one too), but you hold a team to 20 points, with 13 coming in the 1st half (when we scored 14), then it is very hard to blame the defense, which did play much better in the 2nd half.

.....not when it’s an exact continuation of last month of last season.

His performances, or underperforming, is a trend not a fluke and the silent majority is leaving and already left Dakota. The silent majority will be heard. Bet on it

Bro,
I hear ya. The new "Blame it all on Moore" mantra is picking up steam faster than you can shake a stick at.
Just do a simple history re-wind of maybe just a few weeks ago and the pro Dak majority had all the reasons why the offense stayed the same, continuity purposes for Dak, all those statistical yardage numbers and now all of a sudden ....WHAT?

It's Moore... He is still calling the Garrett offense...Why was McCarthy brought here and not use HIS offense?

Deflect it to defense, Deflect it to o line...

It's comical to read. Stay tuned though, it's gonna get even better, lol:)

And again. great post by the way.

This is incorrect IMO. Salary is absolutely a factor here, especially when you are talking about a QB who many in this fanbase think we need to pay $40MM or more to.

People can't have it both ways. They can't demand he get signed long term and be a Top 3 paid QB and then turn around and make excuses for him for not great performances or say things like Dak was "good" and that should have been good enough to win.

Reality is, a $40MM+ a year QB has to play better than Dak did Sunday night. Granted, a $90MM DE probably has to play better than he did too, and a $50MM LB has to play better than he did, etc.

I disagree.....because money doesn't determine how good someone is. We all know this. We all know players aren't paid based on skill. There are multiple facts than just skill. Could Dak play better? Of course he could. But the truth is no one plays like a 40 million dollar players its irrelevant. Even Mahomes on Thursday.....sure he was solid but the players around him contributed to him being solid.

Its a lazy opinion like the people who use to say "Romo can't win the big game"...ok dig deeper. Dak wasn't good because he didn't play like a 40 million dollar player even though he didn't get 40 million.......

Which is funny because when Dak was the worst paid player in the league he was still scrutinized for his play.

They didn't HOLD THEM TO ANYTHING. You are giving the defense credit for the Rams screwing up. The Defense sucked. And for the record I'm not even blaming them honestly. I knew they would suck. We all should've expected them to suck. I'm just pissed and how they sucked. They got beat by the same plays over and over and never showed any signs of stopping them until they stopped running those plays.

I know fans like you love this. "Fans" lol. Can't wait for them to prove you wrong and go on a win streak...we'll see all you guys disappear..until the next loss lol.

If that throw had counted...he would've had over 300 passing yards and 2 Td's with 30 yards rushing....if he puts those stats up the rest of the year we will have 11 wins at least. The issue with that game was the poor 3rd quarter IMO.

Did you see the routes they were running? How many plays did you see Cooper and Lamb go deep? Based on what I saw it looked as if the Cowboys were afraid Dak wouldn't have time to throw so they did a lot of short routes including the dreaded comeback routes to Cooper that I hate. The gameplan I think was to run the ball and live off YAC....similar to what the Rams did except they played our defense and we played theirs.

I really don't mean to keep singling you out, nothing personal.

You really though should stop typing when you start off a post with "IF".

There are so many IFs in a single game. If the refs had flagged us for the blow to Goffs head, if the refs had flagged them for hits to Dak's head, ifHigbee (or Everett) would have caught the 3rd down slant, If Lamb would have run a 4yeard route, If Jefferson would have caught the sideline pass. This can go on for days.

Too many athletes have swagger, much talk, but no dog in them. I couldn't care less, about off field contributions, charity work, or being good for the locker room. This team needs a few dogs on the field.

Please, don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for all that these guys do to better themselves, their families, and communities; but being paid, worshipped and coddled, doesn't make for aggressiveness. Now flopping, is a part of the game.

When Dallas invests $100M+ in Demarcus Lawrence and he has not delivered since signing that extension it isn't lazy to call him out more than a low priced player.

When Dallas invested $64M in Jaylon Smith and he has not performed since signing that extension it isn't lazy to call him out.

When Dak was reportedly asking for $35M+ in a new contract it isn't lazy to view his performance as less than acceptable for a player wanting that kind of money.

ANY player that signs a big money contract or extension is going to be scrutinized more than others because of the big money investment.

If you spend $500 on a used car and it has mechanical problems you sort of expect it given the low money investment but when you spend $50,000 on a new vehicle and it has mechanical problems you are going to be much more critical.
It is lazy because Lawrence isn't contributing enough regardless of how much he's getting paid. If he was getting paid 5 million a year you are saying he shouldn't be criticized? His pay is irrelevant. Darian Thompson should get scrutinized for his play regardless of pay.

I'm sorry man but what's your point? What's the issue here? You felt Dak played poorly. I didn't. It is what it is. Not shocked by that on this site lol. I give you examples and you are going to ignore them so what's the point really?

It counts when you are trying to give this defense credit for something they didn't do.

I'll ask again. When did this defense stop them aside from the Chido pick that shouldn't have counted? This is why box scores are useless to determine how good or bad something is. You are using it to defend your stance as if you didn't watch the game.

What examples did you give me? You gave my a hypothetical 30 point performance by the Rams and a bunch of If statements. Haven't seen any facts. Please re-post.

2019

Dak threw for 4,902 yards which when divided by 16 equals an average of 306.38 yards per game

Dak threw 30 TD's which when divided by 16 equals an average of 1.875 TD's per game

So based on your logic Dallas should have had at least 11 wins because of Dak's numbers (which were at or near the 300 yards passing and 2 TD's a game you stated)...........but Dallas finished 8-8 last year.

So there's that.

But on 3rd down there were 3 drops in this game. This is either true or its now. There is no need to over analyze a fact. Which you are doing and even refusing to acknowledge the fact.

Im guessing the one is the Cooper drop. That was a good defensive play more than a drop. I know it counts as a drop but come on. Dak threw the ball and left the receiver hung out to dry. Not sure the other 2

Fight or flight rationalization based off what if hypothetical is a basic human defense mechanism to save face when self perception is skewed towards an internal or external bias.
It can show itself in many forms.

Usually the behavior comes to the surface after facing repeated factual data that does not align with personal bias.

It's all over the place in the Zone!

Stay tuned, it only gets better from here, lol
