We just need to simply get rid of Jaylon Smith...

Hate to say it...but I think that would be the right move. Looks like Tarzan...plays like Jane. Can't run....and occasionally will take a play off.

There was a few times....you just shake your head..because he looks like a guy that is unsure what he is doing out there.

He might benefit playing in a 3-4 the most...so I'm not sure why he would be complaining...His biggest liability is his coverage as a 4-3 OLBer...

So why he wants to go back...hell who knows.....Trade him to the Raiders for a #1. I'm in. ;)

lol....Marinelli and Richard was killed for playing simple defense, now you know why. The players can't handle it, they make too many mistakes...lol
Haha. Agreed. Though, there's a difference between simple, and being predictable. We could use more disguise, and less "LeTs HaVe ThE whole TeAm DrOp BaCk In CoVeRaGe FoR nO rEaSoN."

I clearly remember a Jimmy Johnson philosophy.
"Don't draft dumb players."
'Nuff said.

Honestly, this is not a good look on Smith.

I think the lesson here is as a player you should stay off of discussing your opinions about the defence and your coach off Twitter.

First of all nothing like calling out your coach on social media. Second, nothing like putting out your professional reputation in front of your peers and opponents on what you can or can't do well.

If I am Seattle I am now devising misdirection schemes to isolate Jaylon Smith because he doesn't like to take on confusing and complex looks and interpreting them.

I am totally opposed to players having social media accounts and talking about the football team in any way shape or form.

Yall know how problematic it is for a leader on defense to speak like this? Then you got D-Law who just talks but never walks. This is why I wanted ET and/or Adams on this team. I don't trust these "leaders" on defense.

It's still peculiar how some of you think Earl Thomas is a a leader we need when he was so toxic, most of the Ravens couldn't wait to get him out of town. I mean there's a pretty good reason why Thomas is sitting on his couch right now wondering if he'll find a team any time soon.

i think there should to be a middle ground ... an in-between,..

. Not too simple, but not to over-complicated either.
Its a way to go about doing that. Creative but not chaotic ..
i think teams like the usually defensive sound teams like Pats, Ravens can go about base and hybrid switch up, disguised blitzes and coverages, etc
without taking players out of their comfort zone.

Reason why we departed away from Rob Ryan, was because it was said that the players, (head coach?) management thought his scheme
was too confusing and undisciplined - and it caused more problems and self-destruction, than what gave and presented to opposing offenses.

Hard to install a complicated system with no preseason and a truncated off-season.

Although more reason why not to overload and over complex players with such an abbreviated, limited summer and offseason.
The better coaches know how to make needed adjustments on the run.

Mccarthy said at hire time, that they wanted to scheme to the strength of the players,..not force players to fit their scheme...

Mosher, of course, ignores Nolan’s history. One of the criticisms of Nolan and why many of his more recent defenses were suspect is that his scheme was often too complicated.

So Mosher can take his dig at Smith but the reality is Smith is saying something that has been alleged before. Griffen just said a couple of days ago he’s going back to his three point stance, so already it seems the players don’t think Nolan is doing them any favors.

Granted not sure Smith should be airing this publicly.

IMO, when we look back I think we are going to end up admitting that Nolan was a questionable hire.
Interesting take.:starspin:

Sage Post!

To quote Kelso from that one 70s show episode in which he bumps his head and hallucinates that he is future Steve Jobs....

"He's the best brogrammer that doesn't share our vision... Now pack your **** and get out!!"
