I’d like to play down the importance of this game in the overall aspect of the season. But I just read a great post in another thread which sparked this thought.

Isn’t this this the type of game we expect this new coaching hire to make a difference?

We brought in a proven HC to lead us over the hump. When does the hump begin? And when do we begin pressing for better results?

Great post Coach!! @CouchCoach

“He's coming off a game most think he was lucky to win and the rap on this team in the past has been it folds against the better teams, also the rap on the QB.

His team is considered the contender in the East but not the NFC, he's playing one of those teams Sunday.

Most of all, he needs this game for his team's confidence. The secondary is banged up, OL is missing pieces and incomplete and his pass rush isn't. Wouldn't you agree he has adversity? Wouldn't you also agree that the SEA coaching staff is considered superior to the Cowboys'?

Adversity and not being at full strength is exactly how Pederson has won over his team. That's how he won a ring, pure confidence built through the confidence his players have in their coaching staff to equalize the games while missing some key players.

McC has been second guessed in both games by the media and this forum, think his players are immune to that? Think they don't wonder if the game is on the line, is their HC as good a decision maker as the other team's?”

Tugboat Mike will be fine. Just as long as he gets along with Jerry and doesn't challenge his control over the team he'll be around for years. This organization rewards mediocracy as long as as you get along. .

I think he has already made a small difference but it’s really the playoffs (if we made it) where we would notice a difference. JG always got out coached. I am sure it will slowly build over the season as the team starts really believing and buying into him and his scheme. Last week was a good leap and start. We played the rams the team found out he will go for it and trust the team. They responded after the loss with a huge character building win. We should have and could have won the rams game.

You added nothing to the thread.

I think this game means a lot to McC's future in this town. Not that he'll be replaced, but whether or not he'll be respected.

A win will be huge of course, but a loss does not mean they are a bad team or are in trouble. It means they still have work to do, and get some injured players back.
Just as a win, they will still have things to work on, as well, still needing those injured players to return and / or get healthy.

He's in the same boat as Parcells was, the expectations are higher because of their credentials. HC's like that are expected to overcome obstacles and deliver. Parcells caught some slack because they loved his press conferences.

The team is 1-1. Hell, the other guy could deliver 8-8's like clockwork and throw some clapping in as a bonus.

McC was hired to make this team better and take it further and anything less than that is unacceptable. No excuses allowed. The decision making has been questionable and shouldn't be with a coach at his experience level.

They just need to show some consistency....got to get rid of this win one lose one stuff we seem to do every year....still think it’s too early in his time with Dallas to call this important one way or another....but it could make a big difference setting this team up for success this year

I think it all depends.

I think the team believes in themselves more than last week, so guys like Shultz, Thomas, T.Hill, Lamb, Knight might carry some confidence into Seattle.

Keep improving.

Why isn't Garrett still here then?

I think Mike is still trying to identify what type of team we are. With no preseason these first 4 to 5 games are the waters to be tested.

Oh dear lord. After 10 years of Jason Garrett can you use that 10 year to argue that this organization does not put up with mediocrity. And why do you think we hired McCarthy? That other teams were beating down his door to coach them? That he full of all kinds of innovative schemes? No it was because Jerry saw somebody he could get along with and whom he could manipulate.

Another Jerry "Yes" man who will be run out of town sooner than expected.

Big Mike can only take this team as close as he can to the watering hole, it up to the horse if he wants to take that drink.
Cant keep putting the blame on coaching,, Red Head got it, and he deserved it, jut check out how great and successful the Giants are...lol
Red Ball sucks.
Lets all be relieved that JG is no longer here, even if we go 8-8.
MM influence already evident.

If we lose, 1-2 teams have a 25 percent chance of making the playoffs.
