Dudes on here was constantly calling Shultz a JAG because he never got an opportunity...SMH.

Moral of the story: stop trashing guys before they get their chance to show up.

Dudes be believing these coaches be knowing everything, when they messed up all the time on simple stuff observers see like starting Knight at RT over Steele.

This league is about opportunity. If you throw the ball 60 times a week your pass catchers are probably gonna put up numbers. Im not trying to take away from Schultz, it's just we are at an incredible pace and he is definitely benefiting from that.

17 catches in 3 starts.

Dak is looking at him quite a bit. 10 targets in week 2(9 catches) and 8 targets this week(4 catches).
Last week he had 6 targets, which to me seems impressive since we have ~4 other competent receivers

Yes Dak is looking for Shultz a lot, but I need more of those targets going to Gallup...just me personally.

I was wrong on him. He just didn’t look like a player and it bothered me the team didn’t think he could block or pass catch. He looks solid. Him, Noah Brown and Cedric Wilson may be the biggest surprises this season.

This is the key. I had him pegged wrong too. I thought he could do a little blocking and catch an occasional pass, but it never crossed my mind he could be a significant player. But in the absence of actual evidence from games, and without the team showing they believed it, how can a fan know?

When a player gets an opportunity, and plays with confidence, it's amazing how they can perform. Schultz looks like a completely different player. Some of it has to do with the fact that he doesn't have to look over his shoulder if he were to make a mistake, because there isn't anyone that is going to replace him. He is making the most of his chance here. Good to see.

Imagine where Jarwin's career might be if they hadn't let Grandpa keep getting 90% of the snaps ....

Schultz may be one of those guys that needs to play alot of snaps to do well. Get into the flow of the game and feel comfortable, but just spot snaps and he underperforms.

Considering he was drafted as a blocking TE and now this.......say hello to our future TE guys.

I dont think his momma would mistake him for a blocking TE but he looks good as a pass catcher. Some of this certainly comes to him as a beneficiary of a certifiable losing formula.

This is why you shouldn't get too hyped up about these inflated numbers.

Schultz is playing well but relax on the numbers unless you're playing fantasy football.

He was one I was right about at least. Pet cat for sure. Reminds me a lot of a young Witten, just more raw. Good to see him getting an opportunity, and working hard.

Schultz was not drafted as a blocking TE and he's also not particularly good. Don't confuse volume with talent.
